Sunset Skating Rink II — Local services in Shamokin Dam

Very disappointed! I had my son's birthday party. Let's start off on how it took my son the birthday boy almost 30 minutes just to get his skates the lady at the entrance told us the orange card was for his skates and to pick a song. Get to the counter and a older gentleman told us no that is was not a valid ticket for skates! Very rude not only to my family but also other parents as well!! I go get get myself skates get my token give my shoes to only get the wrong kind of skates now once again I have to go back to the office to switch out tokens for another one now we wasted 30 mins just trying to get skates!! Also not one person in our party heard the announcement party being served.. As soon as the pizza starts coming out and the kids go to get now they wanna play the 4 corners game only game of the night and they play it right as they served the food! Not fair for the kids.. took about another 20mins after the pizza and we still didn't get our sodas so we had to go ask the girls at the counter not one word from them they left all 3 pitchers on the counter so we ended up going up and grabbing them ourselves!! Ask for cups nothing walked up to the soda machine and helped ourselves to a stack of cups.. young lady with the dark over jacket behind the food counter rolled her eyes so much I'm surprised they didn't get stuck in the back of her head!!!!! on top of that they charged me for people who didn't even skate! Since when do you have to pay to attend a party at the skating rink? Went to to the to express our feelings it was as if they didn't care we asked for a higher phone number to speak to and a older man in the back office said he didn't know or is not sure that's when a younger lady in the office said let me see what I can do she did give us a number. But over all they did nothing about nothing! Also no cards which is cool but it's 2025 and I didn't plan on leaving to run to a ATM for cash something else they should have let us know. NEVER EVER AGAIN!! Alot of parents are with me on this!! HORRIBLE,HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICE AND OVER HALF THE STAFF!! Quick to take people's money, but not to make it correct and to the older gentleman in charge shame on you for acting like you did not know how to get a hold of anyone to speak about the problem, not even a SORRY! I’ve been to this rink many times without a problem, but not today. The minute that my friends and I walked over to pick up our skates, we were yelled at to spit out our gum into a styrofoam cup. “okay”, I thought, “they’re just doing their job”. I got a size 13 skate, and found it didn’t fit. When I went up to exchange the skates for a 14, the employee, a young teenage girl in a referee shirt, seemed very annoyed with me. While on the rink floor, I was standing on the edge, near a ramp, taking pictures of my friend with my phone. The woman then walked up, blew a whistle right in my ear, and yelled at me to put my phone away while “on the floor”. My friends and I were also standing near the ramp talking with other friends standing on the other end of the boards, and were again yelled at for simply standing on the floor. All of these things I’ve done before at this rink without a problem. I work in customer service myself, and I can easily tell the difference between doing your job and just flat out being rude to customers. Not only that, but after just a short 20 minutes of skating I was so annoyed that I went to return my skates. It took another 5 minutes for the employees to even see me because they were all too busy skating around and talking with their friends. I used to have nothing but good things to say about this rink, but I’d say there’s a slim chance that I’ll return. Next time I wanna go skating, I’ll most likely go...

The kids had a good time skating! However I asked 3 times for drinks for our party. At one point I was told they were out of pictures for soda. I had to go and ask about our pizza 3 times. I also asked if the pizza was for the kids only or if there would be enough for the parents. In which I got told there would be for the people skating. So I asked for 2 extra pies. I never received the extra pies . When I went to pay they wanted to charge me 172$ (Highest total on the paper of 4 parties mind you these other parties had way more people than I did)!told me that I had 16 people attend the party!!!! I said excuse me but I can name every child here skating AND I have 2 tickets left over in which you give to the kids for skates and all. To which I was told “well we have 16 people say they were for you’re party” “we count every person not just kids as to skate” I said well I’m sorry but no adults skated and the one that did actually payed for her skates. All of the people at my party DID NOT GET a slice of pizza. No one had drinks unless the bought them their selfs. I was extremely dissatisfied! There one only one girl working behind the concession stand for 3 party’s plus walk in traffic! Yes prices are good but when someone is willing to pay extra for more pizza for parties why is it not accommodated? Also if adding food in with the parties is to much allow the parties to bring outside food so their guest can all have...
