I have been living in this apartment for just 6 months, and the management couldn't be worse: 2 gas leaks and hot water tank burst. They also charge $15 per 1000 gal of water, when City of Sharon water rate for my usage is less than $5 per1000 gal. (i) There were two gas leaks from the stove right after move-in, the first of which required a part replacement. But what was worse was the second leak right after one of the maintenance guys stopped by. This time, the gas leak was from a loose pipe in the back of the stove that he worked on despite the fact that the gas company confirmed no more gas leak before the maintenance guy came by. (ii) On Jan 22, 2023, the heater tank burst, and no heat and no hot water. One of the maintenance guys checked and told me that the 15+ year old hot water tank was leaking and needed to be replaced. No wonder why the heater has been so weak (which I reported three times only to see them take no actions) and the gas bill has been huge. (iii) What's worse is the manager's response. I asked the maintenance guy to have a plumber come and see if anything could be done before the water tank is replaced as I needed hot water and heating. But the Wren manager Myka refused to send a plumber right away. I was asked to use two space heaters without the heating system and just live without hot water in cold January until the replacement. [UPDATE] There have been more events since I left the review on Jan 23, 2023. (i) The space heater they brought caused a power outage in my bedroom, which took some time to restore. (ii) After they replaced the hot water tank, the heater was still not heating the apartment. It was only 67 degree and not reaching the set degree of 72 despite 3 hours of nonstop operation. Hot water was also only lukewarm. (iii) It turned out that a walk-in closet with private and confidential documents right next to the HVAC system was widely open and blocking the return air vent. (iv) When I asked why they opened the closet (which I firmly closed as I expected them to check the HVAC system for the hot water tank replacement), they simply answered nobody opened the closet (v) The manager Myka emailed me, "We are unable to continue communicating in circle," asking me to shut up about the closet left open during my absence. This is the same manager who pointed fingers at residents when I drew her attention to non-working locks to the building entrance and the gym entrance. Both entrances were always unlocked and anyone could enter them. Her immediate reaction was like the locks were working but some residents manipulated them to leave the entrances unlocked. I could not believe she was blaming residents. Then it took a while for the locks to work. She emailed me this time, "The fitness center door handle was replaced due to your concern." Due to my concern? I would not expect such unprofessional reactions and emails from any community manager who cares about residents' safety and well-being as well as the community security. Myka also refused to adjust the water bill including the water leak saying the usage level was "normal." I do not understand how she could even think she could determine my normal water usage ignoring s a huge spike of water usage around the time the hot...
Read moreI am in my fourth year at Avalon Sharon and couldn't be more pleased with the facilities, the office staff, the maintenance staff and the apartment.
Facilities: The pool and BBQ grill are wonderful and well kept and make for a great summer! The clubhouse and gym were recently re-done and a "package room" added. The owners are constantly renovating and making all the shared facilities lovely.
Office staff: Shawn is responsive, caring and highly competent. He gets right back to me on any questions or concerns, communicates well with the community regarding things we need to know, and hosts fun resident get togethers that increase the "community" feel of living here.
Maintenance: If I could give maintenance 6 stars, I would! They are uber responsive, so professional and so good at what they do. Each of the members of the maintenance staff are so nice and so helpful, I couldn't be happier! (I have even spoken to one of them at 4 in the morning and he was even nice at that hour! :)
My ONE complaint .. which doesn't take away from the living experience, so it doesn't reduce my star count .. is that management LOVES to raise the rent! My feedback: If you want a community of people that are committed to your complex and happy living here, please make it easier for us to stay...

After check on my notice, you still want to move in, i need to let you know one more thing, have to check the whole apartment to make sure there is any damage inside then point it out to the rental office, if you don't do that, when you move out, you will responsible for those damage in the apartment, $100 for one scratch in the...
