So i read the reviews, the negatives are what one would expect from our Immediate gratification society, the split second you need something you want, you have to have it, people chill out - we have all experienced this - if my 2 braincells decided to collide and caused me to start the project 10minutes before closing time then perhaps i should have planned my project start time a little better. I have to say this is a true community service and a wonderful jewel sitting in plain sight of everyone. Support them, because if they are gone, these great resources a lost forever.

The staff here really care. they have great products/lumber /prices and all the items you would need without having to make a 60mile round trip to the other side of the galaxy just to save a few bucks. If the assistant doesn't know where something is, they immediately try to help - they don't have that deer-in-the-headlights look when being asked a question like typical staff at Home Depot or Lowes... definitely a great place to check out, relaxed, friendly and a great experience when needing and buying items. Simply outstanding resource not available elsewhere, we are very lucky in Shelbyville to have them...

Go in on Sunday just needed to grab some boards for last minute project. Know exactly what I needed and it was 15 min before closing. I walk in and I'm asked if I need anyone. I ask if anyone is at lumber counter they say they are not selling lumber now because they are getting ready to close. I needed 10 boards and knew exactly what I needed. The best they could tell me was they open at 730 tomorrow morning. Thanks but I'll be at work at 730 where I don't get to refuse to help people because it's 15 min from closing time. I'm not asking to spend a bunch of time in there I could have been loaded and out the door long...

Owner must not have been in on a Saturday. Terrible customer service. Two young gals. Asked what I needed. They directed me to aisle this and that. Never came out from behind counter. Not one single customer in there besides myself. Couldn’t find what I was looking for while they were both laughing and talking small talk. When I walked out, she said NO LUCK? Said no and I went to True Value. I’ll give them another chance at another time, but not impressed with my first visit other than...
