5/2/24 @ 12:30 pm - My family and I just ate here while travelling through this quaint little town. I love this restaurant! The beautifully decorated atmosphere, the elegant restrooms, the fresh flavorful food, the customer service with a smile, and the vibe. Highly recommend this restaurant. Our waiter was so friendly, accommodating and attentive. We wanted a somewhat private table during the busy lunch hour, and everything worked out great. The service was very fast too, considering the lunch crowd. We ordered the kids loco pollo, and the kids were like "wow! This is good mommy." That says a lot coming from my often picky 8 year-old. The taco salad was good. The highlight was the chips and salsa. Warning, don't get full off of the chips and salsa because the meals are quite large and filling. We had to get to-go boxes for all of this great food. Thanks, Carlos!

Was stuck in Shelbyville for 24 hours and asked several locals where to go for Mexican and this place was mentioned almost exclusively. Went for lunch and kept it simple and ordered the chimichanga platter from the lunch menu. At only $7.99 I wasn't expecting much. But what I got was very fast service, drink ,chips, salsa and a hot platter shortly after with my food done very well. They nailed everything from the rice, delicious and fluffy, the beans rich and flavorful. Sauce was good, chimichanga done very well and pico was excellent and I should of ordered more on the side. I decided I will return here again tonight for supper as lunch only cost $11.08 which includes a large Pepsi, the meal plus chips and salsa and taxes included.

We stopped here in the way home from camping at Lake Shelbyville. It was about 2pm so it was not busy. The wait staff was very nice, the food order was correct and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself is very clean including the bathrooms. It is well decorated and not the usual cluster of colors you see at other Mexican restaurants, this was very tastefully done. Lots of seating and parking. There’s some parking in the back for larger vehicles and trailers.

I don't usually leave negative reviews but I am so disgusted with this place! After trying to place an order on the phone for pickup I was not being understood so I drove there instead. I placed my order and had them repeat it back to me, I ordered and paid for extra salsa and chips as well. After receiving my order I started to leave when I noticed that I didn't have extra salsa that I paid for so I went back in. They apologized and got me more salsa and the guy said he didn't tell the other guy... I know that he did because I heard him.. when I got home I was missing one of my items so I called them and asked to speak to him.. the lady just wanted to keep asking me over and over what I got I explained that he's the one that took my order and he's the one I'd like to speak with..I was the only customer they had.. she refused to let me talk to him and hung up on me so I called back and asked to talk to him again..she said what you need.. once again I told her what I had ordered and that I didn't get what I ordered... She tried to tell me that I did and I tried to tell her that I didn't because they repeated back to me everything I wanted. I'm done I won't be back.. this place has went...

I haven't eaten here for at least 5 years and I'll tell you why. Some of the waiters like to get fresh with the lady customers. I went here alot because the food was good but if i had my girlfriend with me the waiters would always make unappropriate comments. When I'd say somehting they just laugh then walk away. it got to be a problem and one night i got out of my chair and i said to the waiter id ( I'll leave this part out) and i never step foot in the place again. I've spoken to many people who have experienced the same problem. So i wouldn't even think of going back. till 3 days ago. I took my mother there because i told her id take her somewhere we hadn't been in awhile. They've done alot to the inside new carpet new paint and little pieces of art on the walls. The food was as i remembered and i did see some new faces. I hope chapala has changed and if it hasn't well that'll be the...
