Home Depot has long been a go-to for homeowners and contractors alike, offering a wide range of products and services. However, in recent times, certain issues have become more prominent, especially concerning inflation-driven price increases.
Rising Prices: One of the most pressing concerns is the noticeable price inflation across many product categories. Basic building materials, hardware, and even everyday tools have seen significant price hikes. Items that were once affordable, such as lumber, paint, and plumbing supplies, are now priced considerably higher than they were years ago. While inflation is affecting many industries, the steep price increases at Home Depot have made it harder for consumers to complete projects within budget.
Cost of Essential Goods: Even essentials, like light bulbs, screws, and gardening supplies, now come at a much higher cost than expected. Customers are finding that many of the items traditionally purchased at a reasonable price now stretch their budgets, creating frustration for both DIY enthusiasts and professionals trying to manage project costs.
Inconsistent Availability: Despite the higher prices, inventory issues can also be a concern. Some shoppers have reported difficulty in finding popular items in stock, further compounding the challenges of higher costs. While Home Depot typically offers a wide selection, certain key products are sometimes unavailable when needed most, leading to delays in projects.
Service and Convenience: On the positive side, Home Depot continues to offer a broad product range and convenient locations, with most stores being well-staffed and offering various services such as tool rentals and installation help. However, the impact of rising costs has overshadowed these benefits for many customers, making Home Depot a less cost-effective option than in the past.
Conclusion: Home Depot remains a convenient destination for home improvement needs, but the significant price increases and occasional inventory issues have started to affect its value proposition. For many, the higher costs make it harder to stick to budgets, especially for larger projects. Addressing these inflation-related concerns would greatly improve the overall...
Read moreThe main reason I’m writing this review is because the customer service person who answered the phone was incredibly rude, argumentative and snippy with me. I called to ask the status of my order because this is the second time the due date was missed and I received no call or update of any kind. Summary of interaction: (Phone rings and she answers hello) I tell her I would like to know the status of my order. (Silence.) I ask can you hear me? Yeeesss(full of attitude) one minute (hostile abrupt tone). What’s the order number(demanding tone)? Oh I wasn’t given one. (She lets out a hostile sigh) every order has one. It starts with a w. What’s the order number? (Impatient and demeaning tone) I don’t have one. (Silence-which I don’t interrupt given her attitude) phone number (clipped tone)(I provide it) online order? (Clipped tone) no. She says she sees it was due yesterday and it hasn’t been received it will be here tomorrow. I ask will someone call me to let me know cause no-(interrupted) YES! (Extremely rude, impatient, almost yelling tone) ok cause no one called me either time before. (Silence) umm ok thank you. She replies mmmhmm and ends the call.
Now beyond this I could ignore the fact I came to buy a bunch of appliances and no one could answer my questions. They were too new and didn’t know anything so I bought them all at Lowe’s. I tried to order blinds and the employees there were new as well and couldn’t answer questions. They were eventually able to go fire it out but I am not confident in my order. you have repeatedly missed delivery dates for orders with no contact to me so I show up in store and item is not ready. But Rudeness I can’t tolerate. I don’t care if she is having a bad day or I am the 100th person to ask about an order there is no excuse for the way she treated me. She is the only reason I wrote...
Read moreFrom a name like Home Depot there's a level of customer service that is expected. Today I witnessed something truly heartbreaking. While shopping with my husband, we encountered an elderly woman a few different times while wandering around. Each time she seemed frazzled and in need of help. She was purchasing decking material, sixteen foot pieces of Trex. This woman who is barely 5foot and probably in her late 70s was trying to put pieces of Trex onto a cart with zero assistance. The breaking point and why I'm writing this review was after checking out, while loading up our own project materials, we seen the woman again struggling to try and cut the handful of Trex she had purchased in half to fit into her vehicle. Not even ten feet away was the attendant for the construction loading bay. He never once offered to help her in any way, whether that was offering her alternatives to get the product home, or unloading the cumbersome material from the cart. She wasn't even acknowledged. My husband and I offered to load the woman's decking into our truck and help her get it home, fortunately a couple with a trailer that also lives in the area took over for us because the decking wasn't fitting in our truck bed safely. The lack of compassion that was show for this woman is disgusting. The way she was ignored was abhorrent. The employees of Showlow Home Depot need...
