White Mountain Village — Local services in Show Low

About 6-8 months ago the parking lot was redone which was a big plus but signs posted for updating this strip mall has been posted for over a year or longer to no avail. KFC has recently closed there not only due the increase in minimum wage but also due to White Mountain Village being in such need of updating. It's sad that the management company has made a choice to let things go as they have. More businesses (like Hallmark) has decided to move out leaving many vacant occupancies and this certainly does not speak well of Pinetop/Lakeside. Looks like the owners are starting to reroof some of the stores. Maybe things are looking up for White Mountain Village. 2-21 update: Finally the strip mall has been refurbished and looks so much better. Hopefully some new businesses...

Though the Lodge was under new management the staff were friendly, helpful, honest, patient, and appreciative. I know that they did their best to make our visit comfortable despite the sparce conveniences of a hotel. The stay was well worth not receiving little "mints" on my pillow daily. I do not need to be spoiled to be pleased with fine details of a hotel. I was very comfortable and enjoyed my visit. I am glad that we spent time there. I hope that we are welcome there again even though our group was abundant with rowdy, young children who loved the hotel and being outdoors. I...

The (we) locals up here have to deal with constant visitors speeding recklessly, speaking rudely and looking down upon them for some reason, why I know not. Despite all that, they manage to keep smiles on and keep the shelves stocked and the food clean. I left $2,500 in a blue bag (all cash) years ago in a shopping cart that was returned by one of the workers. I think it's pretty safe to say that these are good people. And they're adequately educated, and have as much teeth as they can afford. Slow down, relax , breathe deep and smile at the people...you'll feel...
