This restaurant is overpriced and underwhelming. Do not eat here. I ordered the sea scallops with pasta and in their regency sauce. The noodles were over cooked and smothered in what I can only assume was oil, due to the absolute greasiness. The scallops were rubbery and just not great. The waitress recommended the mushroom soup and said that it was her favorite soup. Clearly her taste buds must have been damage from the years of eating the awful food. It was so salty and tasted like it was made from a can of cream of mushroom. My wife had only ordered the shrimp cocktail and was going to order dessert as she wasn’t to hungry. The shrimp cocktail arrived to the table and it looked nice. Once she took a bite her face immediately changed to omg what is happening in my mouth. They had put so much horseradish in the sauce that it was inedible, the heat and flavor of the horseradish was so overwhelming. The waitress proceeded to talk to the table next to us while we patiently waited to get her attention for the awful cocktail sauce. She sat with that table for awhile chatting, disregarding her other patrons.Once the waitress finally made it back to our table I asked if the sauce was made to order. She said no but, she would take it back and have it fixed. She brought it back and low and behold it was able to be eaten. Who knows what they did. My wife and I were hopeful that maybe the dessert would be good and at least make up for the poor service and extremely underwhelming food. We had seen the waitress ask guest if they were interested in dessert before they were given their bill and even brought out a tray with all the desserts on it. The waitress didn’t even ask us if we were interested in dessert and just brought us our bill. We were never asked how the food was tasting, if we needed refills on our drinks, nothing. At that point I had enough of this establishment. We proceeded to politely pay our bill and just leave. Unfortunately for the little girl who served us she did not receive a very good tip. I am usually a very generous tipper, but not tonight. I’ll never eat at this...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try some place new tonight for sushi. We had never been to the Chalet so we thought we'd try it out. Well all I can say is we were very disappointed in the quality of the sushi. I had several different types of nigiri and we ordered several different types of rolls. While the nigiri was nicely presented the quality of the fish was lacking. The texture was off...kind of mushy for the salmon and the tuna was rubbery. The rolls...well they were flat out some of the poorest rolls I have ever had and I have had rolls in MANY different restaurants all over the country. The sauces were canned and the rice I believe was not actually sushi rice. One of the rolls we had was a las vegas roll which is common in most sushi restaurants and it was terrible. They sure are proud of their sushi....most rolls are between $10 and $14 dollars each. Literally I've has better sushi from Fry's and Costco....and thats a pretty low stoop. We won't be going back. Oh I should say our server who's name I think was Butch was excellent, one of the best I've had since moving up to the area. I'd give his service 5 stars. Too bad the food and price didn't match his...
