Before I delve into the details of my recent dining experience at Mr. Zeke's Pinetop, I want to emphasize my genuine fondness for your establishment. As a local resident, I firmly believe in supporting local businesses, and Mr. Zeke's has long been a cherished destination for both myself and my guests.
However, I am compelled to share my recent disappointment regarding the decline in service quality at your restaurant. On April 17, I reached out to request a callback from a manager to discuss my experience, but unfortunately, I have not received a response as of today, April 26. As a patron who values transparency and open communication, I believe it is crucial to address concerns directly with the proprietor before resorting to public feedback.
During my most recent visit, several issues marred what would have otherwise been an enjoyable dining experience. Firstly, I was surprised to learn about the new policy of not splitting checks. In today's digital age, where technology has made such transactions seamless, this decision struck me as a step backward and an inconvenience to customers.
Moreover, despite the modest crowd and apparent presence of 3-4 staff members, the service felt rushed and lacking in attentiveness. Only one member of my party was offered a cocktail, and I had to flag down our server to place my own drink order. On two occasions, we had to approach the bar directly to address our service needs, which should have been promptly attended to at our table.
Additionally, our check was presented to us abruptly without inquiring if we were ready, and upon inspection, I discovered a lipstick stain on my wine glass. While I understand that mistakes can happen, the lack of attention to detail was disappointing. Furthermore, we were not offered dessert options; instead, our check was simply re-served to us, signaling the end of our dining experience.
As someone who values the ambiance and service of a restaurant as much as the quality of the food, I am disheartened by the decline in these areas at Mr. Zeke's. While I sincerely hope to see improvements, I am hesitant to continue patronizing an establishment where my dining experience does not meet expectations.
I remain optimistic that my feedback will be taken constructively, and I look forward to seeing positive changes that will restore Mr. Zeke's to its former status as a beloved dining...
Read moreDisappointed. On a road trip and wanted something good to-go to eat on the road. Placed a to-go order at the host stand. Was told would be about 25 minutes. Dinner time on a weekday and it was busy, so I waited outside. At about the 20 minute mark I went back inside to finish waiting. There was an order on the bar bagged up. A second to-go order came out, watched it being bagged up, and handed to the people waiting for the order. I figured mine must not be ready yet. After about ten minutes of waiting inside, the host says to me they are still finishing up my order. After a couple more minutes, he goes to the bar, picks up the bagged order, the one that was sitting there when I walked in, and brings it to me. This order had been dying on the counter for at least 12 minutes.
Their to-go food is placed in paper board boxes instead of styrofoam. Soggy food sitting in it for long periods of time makes the box soggy These boxes were soaked with was once our fried food. My box with my burger had collapsed the box with the wife's chicken fried steak.
My wife took two bites and couldn't eat anymore. Not only was it cold, her chicken fried steak was more like ewy-gooey meat patty. There was no more fried anything to this dish. Fried zucchini, same thing. Floppy, soggy zucchini slices.
My burger was okay albeit cold. And dry. Apparently you need to ask for condiments on the burger or to be placed in the bag, since there was neither. And the fries, you guessed it. Cold and soft. Though not as soft as the zucchini. There was still some firmness to them.
The service for a to-go order is pretty easy. No waiting on the guest. Food made, food delivered.
We won't...
Read moreWhere do I start?. Got to this restaurant as it was recommended by somebody, and maybe 4 other tables are occupied. Started by asking for 2 margaritas and 2 waters during happy hour. Server comes back and asks what kind of rim (salt or sugar) we tell her. The margaritas show up. No water. So we ask for water again. ... she comes back and gets the food order and we order some fried zuchini for an appetizer, and water. The food comes out. Delicious and hot. Still no water so we ask for water again and order our food.. Basic order, no changes to the meals. Wait. Food comes out and one of the meals was completely wrong. So we mention it and she takes both meals away. Still no water. Few minutes later she brings the food out again and it's still not correct, one meal didn't come with fries as it was supposed to (she asked what side we wanted when we ordered originally) but at this point we're sick of waiting. We ask for water AGAIN and it finally comes out. After finishing our food with no follow ups, we waited and waited for the check until server came back and asked. At this point there was only 1 other patron in the restaurant so it wasn't busy at all. Instead of checking the bill like I should have, I just handed my card to her to pay because I just wanted to get out of there. After looking at the bill on the way out we didn't even get happy hour margarita prices, oh well. Never going back. Even as a new server, that was a horrible experience. Food was decent, but doesn't warrant...
