Brookshire's — Local services in Shreveport

EDIT: Had to come back and give y'all the 5th star after shopping there this afternoon. My experience has always been that everyone who works at this Brookshires really cares about the store and the people who shop there. The lady who rang up my order today was exceptionally wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and took such care bagging everything up just right and I really appreciate her effort. I'm not in good health and grocery shopping just wipes me out. Ashunte got everything rang up, very nicely bagged so I could get it up the stairs as easily as possible without stuff falling out of torn, overstuffed bags, and she did it quickly and seemed to genuinely care. She made my entire day so much better.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I really like shopping here. The prices on most stuff are okay but the selection, especially in the produce department, could be better. But it's a smaller store so they can't have everything.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I've always been able to find help when I need it and the cashiers are wonderful. I don't know how this place always manages to hire such awesome people but I wish more places would do whatever it is this Brookshires is doing.

It's not just one thing in my opinion. It's an average experience most of the time. Usually it's more so the time of day, but the lines seem to get a bit stagnant. I've never had any luck with the check cashing and I know there are polices in place to protect the business. It's just not my first choice. I will go 4 stars for you actually reaching out to people for feedback. And im just 1 person with my unique thoughts and opinions. Most people fail to see things from the business side of things and get upset and blast ratings to punish a company for good business practices. I still shop there when the need arises and mostly that's do to what's convenient at the time. That's why y'all will continue to improve and be successful. Don't let petty people get to you. Most people can see for themselves why a business has a few bad reviews and what they pertain to. If I had any good ideas or answers, I'd be the one doing what your doing. For what it's worth, I think you're doing a great job. It takes precious time coddling the internet trolls who take pleasure in spreading their misery. They have one of those cards where the prices are a little better. I couldn't remember the number associated with my card because I got it when I had another number. Usually the cashier will swipe a dummy card when this kind of thing happens but not this time. Obviously management has decided to crack down, which is what managers at this particular chain do best. I asked if she had a card I could fill out on the spot. She said they're all in the office. More management in action! So I went to the office to fill out the forms. I didn't like doing this because there were people behind me waiting to check out, if nobody takes a stand the MBAs will ruin everything good in this world. It worked. The manager on duty signalled the cashier who called me back and completed my transaction with discount applied. Again, I didn't like doing this. The cashier did nothing wrong but she was having a hard day and I made it worse. I'm truly sorry about that. But people need to stand up for themselves and managers need to realize that rules like that are made to be broken.
