My first experience with this shop was AWESOME. The person behind the counter was very helpful and understood the cuts of beef they offered. Talked at length about the product and everything they offered. Update starts here..... Had an opportunity to share my experiences with the owner, and he really cares about his customers and took the time to talk to me about one specific incident. I visited the store again, and the first guy was there along with another gentleman who were both examples of good, down home, customer focused service. My wife visits your place regularly. She always speaks highly of the staff and, most importantly, the quality of the meat. At our house, steak night is highly anticipated! I had a chance to visit for the first time. Before we even got in the store, I experienced the service my wife raved about. As we were approaching the shop, 3 older ladies were outside looking through the windows. They tried to open the door and were having trouble opening it. They thought the place was closed. The employee saw what was going on and ran outside to let the ladies know that they were indeed open. I stopped in here on a whim because I had been looking for a local butcher, and I was blown away by this little shop. First, the prices are excellent, especially since the products are such high quality. I've purchased steaks, pork belly, bacon, and tuna so far, and everything was tasty, fresh, and exceptional quality. Second, the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable too and provides excellent service. They also have a great selection of Ashe County cheese, some local vegetables, and a bunch of sauces too.
