Down Town Café — Restaurant in Siler City

Our past two times being here had been amazing! Our waitress (Kay) was absolutely incredible. Easily said she is a jack of all trades. From taking orders, running the register and I seen her on the grill here and there a few times. If she isn’t a lead (manager) she deserves to be!!! So for her I would give 5 stars. Although, the young grill cook takes away from overall experience. Constantly on her phone, ignoring when people are at the register, and being completely disrespectful. We overheard her say several times that she would not cook another omelette if an order was made for one. Us personally do not wish to hear things like that. She does not need to be on the grill. I have witnessed a few disturbing things at this restaurant, and will never again eat here. I have watched them drop a spoon that they were using to serve food with, pick it up, and place it right back in the container, never washed it. I have also watched first hand how they use the same bowl for eggs all morning without washing it once (state registration is your supposed to wash every hour at a minimum), I've also been told that they also do not wash other utensils nearly as often as they are supposed required by the state, and just isn't clean overall. So glad to have Downtown Cafe in Siler! Definitely the local spot for breakfast.

Few tips....they only serve breakfast on Saturday. It's often very busy Saturday mornings. But they are quick and very attentive. Get the dessert. Everything I've had is really good. The pancakes are massive.

I always get the omelettes and it's very fresh and full of veggies (western is what I like).
