I had contacted a gentleman, I believe by the name of Brandon a week or so ago, asking about some specific 5.56 ammo and seeing if he could get with his buyer to find out if it was something that could be ordered for that store, so that I could pick up a few boxes.
It is an ammo that shows available through your site but not for online ordering currently.
He said he would get back to me, I had not heard from him so decided to stop by there today on my way into town and check the status. When I asked for him I was at first told by a young lady that he would not be able to help me, as he got into trouble and could not sell guns. I explained to her what it was about and could I talk to him.
When he got to the counter, he was making one excuse after another, what it boiled down to was he said someone took his note, so he was unable to call me. When I pressed him about if he had even tried to contact his buyer about that specific request, he had not. He kept trying to say he was unable to get a hold of the buyer. But he in fact had never tried to contact him about my request.
So he went behind the counter and looked up a number, dialed it, or what appeared to be dialing it, then said he could not get a hold of him and that it was something they normally stocked but would just have to see what comes in.
Here is my issue. I hate excuses and poor customer service. He provided both of those in spades.
The reply should have been; I can't seem to get a hold of him but I will get with my manager and see if we can get an email or some other kind of contact and let me get your name and number again and I will assure you I will get back to you within xx days with an answer.
Instead, he took the lazy way out.
There are too many other options out there. I purchase various goods and clothes from your store, probably not as frequently as some, but certainly more than just a couple of times a month.
If an associate does not understand the term "customer service" they need to be educated what that term means and how your company defines good customer service. If after they have been taught, perhaps reminded etc... and they refuse to provide that level of customer service, they should be given the chance to prosper elsewhere. Someone else that needs and wants the job and is willing to perform good customer service is out there that will take their place.
As I was leaving, he said something such as "Sorry we couldn't help you". My reply was "Some actual follow up would have been nice" and left.
You are getting 3 stars due to the customer service I have received from other associates the times I have been in there before and shopped.

Read moreA very good place as helpful as Tractor Supply. The people there mostly Pleasant. I have ran across at least one manager that had a chip on his shoulder no names. Also try to buy a dog house for my dog that was going to have puppies and the manager had me come in to get one right away and I could get it for a certain price I think it was a hundred forty bucks when I got in there the same manager that I will not name told me that somebody was in the back putting it together and that I would have to pay the extra $25 I told him I cannot put a full built house in the back of my vehicle that's why I came in and put the crate up when the other manager told me to rush in their 40 miles. so after that point they were out of dog houses I asked them to order me one please I went around within about a 60-mile radius to the Atwoods that were in that area and none of them had that particular dog house they were all on back order well about 3 days before my dog was due to have puppies and which time I had already built a dog house they told me and asked me if I wanted my dog house that they had ordered they were very pleasant about that had nothing to do with the people for me but it was entirely too late. I still give them a 4-star because of all the good things I want out of that one bad thing give me a bad taste about was in my mouth I did contact the home store. Went to their Facebook page and they were going to give me a call no one at the home store ever...
Read moreLady at checkout thinks she runs the front-end like a 2nd grade teacher and you are the student. She was rude when I decided to self serve my 3 children popcorn. We literally waited 5 to 7 minutes before a group of three older folk self served themselves popcorn. I decided I would do the same. 4, I joke around not, 4 people at the counter watched me get berated by this lady for getting popcorn and stated," would you like some more popcorn?!" I replied with, "no thank you, we helped ourselves as you and 3 others watched my kids and I stand awaiting service!" She then stated she had to now throw the popcorn away because I "contaminated the batch with MY DIRTY HANDS." I basically left speechless without staying what I really felt like (my 3 naive and innocent children were with me). My middle child (11 years old) mentioned how rude the lady was to me and apologized to me for getting them the stale popcorn. Needless to say. The shorter mid 40s to early 50s lady with curly hair and glasses was rude (I overheard she received employee of the month the week prior from what appeared to be her supervisor). This was at about 6:30 on a Sunday evening and I have not been back...
