Doggie in the Window — Local services in Simsbury

I had taken my beagle/lab mix here for 6 months after recently moving to the area. I picked her up from being groomed and realized that she had blood coming from four different nails due to being cut too short. My dog was not wagging her tail or acting like herself for a while after being picked up from this place. She will not let me touch her paws after the appointment this morning. I called to explain the situation and ended up talking to the owner who stated “So I heard Bug had a bloody nail this morning” which very little empathy in his voice. I’ve had other places cut a nail too short every so often, but I’ve never had someone cut 4 all at the same time. After explaining that trimming nails is difficult, he proceeded to say that he would refund me but that my dog would no longer be welcome there anymore. In my opinion, this was not the way to professionally handle this situation and if you do decide to get your dog groomed...

Took my 7month puppy (hound/lab mix) the first time it went well, was told she had a great day and she would love to have me bring her often. However when i called to continie to take my puppy the same lady continue to come up with an excuse, "can't be here for more than 2 1/2 hrs today" or " I dont think she would benefit being here today" took my puppy to Best friends in Avon and they are GREAT! is cheaper and has great staff. Do research before going with Doggie in the window, this lady was rude and dosen't like dogs that require real work sine all they take are older dogs that don't require too much excersise, sine they leave thye dogs INSIDE most of the day. I DO NOT recommend this place, for your dogs benefit go to Canton or Avon...

Our little Shih-Tzu, Lily, has been a loyal visitor of Doggie in the Window for all 12 1/2 years of her life! We started boarding her as a puppy, and she continues to spend time there whenever we travel. We would not leave her anywhere else! Lily has also never been groomed anywhere but at Doggie in the Window. Martha, Ellen and their dedicated staff have always been incredibly loving with our dog - the individual attention and care she receives...
