I have to preface this by saying I worked at a different Big Y location for 5.5 years so I can totally understand unreasonable customers and reviews.
I ordered a pizza yesterday for 6:45 and showed up to pick it up at exactly 6:45. I talked to a pizza shop employee with blonde hair and gave him my name, the type of pizza, and the time I was there to pick it up for. He told me it’ll be a few minutes which is totally fine.
I waited in front of the pizza shop the entire time while this guy was also there in the front. At some point while I was talking to my friend, he apparently took the pizza out of the oven and never told me (there were several pizzas in the oven). We even looked at each other a few times but I didn’t want to be “that customer” who bothers the employees every few minutes asking “is it ready yet”. I assumed maybe they were late in putting it in the oven so I waited.
After maybe 15 minutes a different employee (tall, dark hair) asks me if I needed anything and I told him I was waiting for a pizza. He gets me a box off the oven and that’s when I learned it was already ready. Thank god for that employee.
Like I said, I worked at Big Y for years. I get it. But what more do you need if not a baby sitter when I show up on time, give you all the information you need, and then patiently wait to be called? I know if I was in his position and someone bothered me about their pizza, then in my head I’d be like “dude I will tell you when your pizza is ready, calm down”. But I guess this guy actually needed that.
Pizza ended up getting cold (but really good, so kudos to that).
Store is beautiful, everyone else was nice, and pizza was good. But that dude with blonde hair needs to do...
Read moreI want to love this Big Y so badly - it's close to home, clean, great parking, well organized...but there are two big negatives. Poor customer service all over the store (except for Denise who helps with bagging - you are the best!) The self check out fella didn't even look at me as he helped me with an item. The customer service desk is obnoxious. But the most irritating thing about this store is the pricing. EVERY TIME, without fail, I stand and examine my receipt before leaving and I have to go to the customer service desk to have them refund me the proper amount. It's beyond irritating. It takes extra time and I should be able to shop and trust the store, pay and leave and not have to go correct their mistakes every time. I don't think there's ever a "sorry" and then I have to spend 10 minutes waiting for them to check that I'm correct on the price, refund the amount I paid for it the first go, and then sign the receipt. I'm going to stop coming here soon - it's insane how often prices are incorrect....
Read moreBig Y is a good store to shop. However, employees are compromising their reputation. I attempted to feed a $20 bill in the self-service register. The bottom of the bill was torn off and the machine would not accept it. I asked the store clerk if she could switch the bill so I can continue with the transaction. She went to the front desk and left me standing for a while. The store clerk returned and said, "Sorry we cannot accept the bill." I asked for the store manager and he said the same. I then asked if he could switch the bill and he said no but they can ring me out at register. Another store clerk then shorted me $4.00. I said the change due back is on the receipt. She looked at me in disbelief and then took a long time trying to figure out how to payout the money owed to me. I said I have been here so long, I worry that my fish is spoiled. I ended up throwing it away when I arrived home. "Big Y, train your managers and employees how to treat customers." Poor...
