What a positive initial experience! Scheduling was easy, the ladies were so friendly, and I really did enjoy my time in the salon.

This review though, is to warn you a bit.

I've never had microbraids in my hair. Today, I decided to get some twists. I arrived at 8:30 am and left at 6 pm. I was completely fine with spending my day here. I planned for it with lots of snacks, and didn't mind the wait at all.

I left the salon in so much pain (due to how tight the braids were), but truly felt beautiful on the outside. The braids were BEAUTIFUL!! She did such a great job! When I got home though, I couldn't sleep that night, in fact, I could barely move my head during the day. I was taking aspirin like crazy, it was the absolute worst! I figured since it was my first time, all of this was normal. I knew I needed to fight through it! The next day, my scalp began itching and burning. I continued to take aspirin, and went out and spent almost $100 on scalp oils, medical shampoos for the scalp, researched EVERYTHING online for relief, I tried anything and everything I could think of!! Nothing worked.

On day 4, the pain, itching and burning was soooo bad; I had to take the braids out! $220 + my own products purchased to relieve the pain/ itch, down the drain!! I am truly devastated. I desperately wanted this to work, and I tried everything, but even my ears were burning, what the heck!?!

Needless to say, I lost a lot of money and time due to these braids. What a terrible first experience. I know other women don't experience this, or they'd never continue doing it. So with that, please do your research before getting braids, no matter...

A message to SS African Braiding: Please! Get your act together.

I called this morning to make an appointment to get my hair braided. I was told no one was available but I could come in the next day at 9:30. I said that was fine and hung up.

A few minutes later I get a call back saying that someone would be available and did I want to come in at noon? I said that was perfect and I'd be in that afternoon.

I arrived at the shop (which is located around the back of a strip-mall-type store front) at 11:50am. I knock on the door. No answer. Ok I'll wait a few minutes. At 12:06 I decide to call the main line and see if anyone's on their way. I speak to the same woman who informs me that the girl who is coming to braid my hair is running late because she has to drop off her son. I asked how long that might take and she said "I don't know..maybe about 15 minutes" she then asked if I had eaten lunch and suggested that maybe I should go get something.

Finally, just when I'm at my breaking point and about to head out of the parking lot I get a call (From who I'm assuming is supposed to be doing my hair) saying no one confirmed with her and that she hadn't left her house. Did I want to reschedule? Thanks but no thanks.

Total time wasted: 2 hours Needless to say I will not...

I was very dissatisfied and disappointed of the service that happened with me at ss braids. My appointment time was at 9:30am when I came in there was a girl that was already sitting there in the chair and they hadn't even started on her hair yet. While they were in the middle of doing the woman's hair the lady came over and told me that she misquoted me on the price when she told me that the price of the style that I was getting was 280 so they charged me more even after sitting there for hours pass my appointment time. They didn't get started on my head till after 3:00 in the afternoon and I didn't leave until 9:00pm at night and they still had the nerve to charge me extra even after all that waiting and not only that they even took several breaks while I was sitting there waiting for my hair to be done.Let's be truthful when I came into the establishment you guys had not even started on the clients head yet. I feel that it is very bad business to take and schedule two clients at the same time to come in for braids or twists.
