Having Taís as our Doula for the birth of our first child was the best decision my husband and I made for ourselves and for our daughter. Towards the end of my pregnancy, the OBGYN team expressed concern that my daughter was getting too big to fit through the birth canal. I really believe it was by following Taís’s guidance to open my pelvis, “wiggle my toosh,” and keep moving during my pregnancy that I was ultimately able to avoid a C-section even after a long labor. As first time parents, my husband and I were nervous and unsure what to expect or even what questions to ask. As soon as we interviewed Taís, we were put at ease by her calm, reassuring demeanor and wonderful sense of humor. In preparing for the birth and during labor, we both appreciated that Taís is able to confidently provide guidance without ever making us feel like she was taking over. She made it clear from the beginning that the most important thing was for me to feel heard as the birthing parent and for my husband to feel like he had a meaningful supportive role—and that is exactly what happened. Having her in the hospital with us through a 30-hour labor gave us the support and stamina we needed to continue and stay optimistic. She brought snacks, was quick to jump in with different positions, massage techniques, and pain relief options, and even provided some much-needed laughs. When our daughter was born, we felt like she was as excited and relieved as we were, and I knew she would be a treasured part of our lives. During the postpartum visit, she helped us bathe our daughter for the first time and it felt like having an old friend in the house. We cannot say enough good things about her. She is...
Read moreWorking with Tais as our birth doula was a wonderful experience. Throughout the pregnancy she shared valuable resources and guidance which set us up for success when the time came for delivery. On the morning I went into labor I had a lot of questions and was nervous but Tais called to talk things through with me and offer reassurance. I wound up at the hospital too early and was sent home to wait for further labor progress; throughout that time Tais was incredibly supportive and helped my husband and I prepare for the next phase of labor, and offered advice on how I could get some rest. When it was finally time to go to the hospital, Tais was a huge source of comfort as we waited for the pushing phase. Along with supporting me she also made sure my husband felt supported. During the pushing phase she helped me find the most comfortable and effective pushing position and kept me in a calm mental state during delivery, always there to make sure I was hydrated and to offer words of encouragement. Having her by our side during labor and delivery made this such a positive experience and I can't recommend her highly enough, especially for first time parents. On top of all this she has been a great source of support and wisdom for us since the birth and has helped us with lots of useful tips...
Read moreTais helped as our doula for the birth of our firstborn and was extremely helpful in preparing us not just for the day of birth but for what followed. We chose her following our interviews since she spent especially long getting to know us and our situation and going over several books and other details and didn't try to just send us a contract after some brief talking. This was pretty representative of her work ethic and demeanor, as each visit she spent hours going over plenty of details and exercises and relayed plenty of information that we had no idea we needed to know. I felt incredibly prepared after several sessions leading up to birth, and she kept a line of communication open outside of these meetings.
The day of birth went smoothly with her at our side, and I felt way more comfortable with her there. After we brought our son home, she visited a few more times to help with feeding positions, sleeping tips, giving the first bath, and overall helped us greatly in not just bringing our son safely into the world but helping ensure we kept him safe and happy until we had things pretty well figured out.
Would 100% recommend Tais if you need a friendly and helpful face during one of the most complicated times for a...
