I absolutely love going to Wool and Honey and consider them one of my local yarn stores (LYS). Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They offer such a fantastic selection of yarn and fiber as well as many other crafty goodness. I fell in love with their own brand of specialty teas and my son is addicted to using their soaps. We love Wool and Honey and consider ourselves loyal customers.

Update: The store replied to my review. Yes, they did send me the $5 pattern, but they still advertise the "kit" for $53.99 on their web site (see picture). For $53.99 you will get 2 skeins of yarn with $23.99 price tags attached!!

I really wanted to love this business, but I am hugely disappointed. I ordered the Palmyre shawl kit which had a price of $53.99. When it arrived I got 2 skeins of yarn, and no pattern. I contacted the company and was told they no longer send patterns. I don't know how you can call it a kit without including a pattern, but they do. They sent me a link where I could buy the pattern online for $5. So for my $53.99, I got two skeins of yarn that had a price tag of $23.99 each. That's all I got. Had I ordered the 2 skeins of yarn alone it would have been $47.98. A blatant rip-off. ...

Best LYS in Northern MI hands down!! Great selection of well known Indie brands. Several Michigan dyers stocked. Very high quality offering in both fibers as well as tools and needles. Great printed pattern selection. Vast offering of supplies and gifts including local artisan made Petoskey and Leelanau stitch markers. This is not the sort of place where you’ll find dusty shelves of acrylic by mass producers. It’s well curated and a fixture in the community. I first came in search of one of my favorite Indie dyers and while it’s the furthest of the NoMI shops from me, it’s #1 on my list. Totally worth the trip!...

A little yarn shop that seemed cute but turned out to be pretty off-putting. Even long after COVID, they still had hand sanitizer at the door and signs insisting on masks, like customers were all diseased. At the counter, there were stickers pushing the owner’s political views, and the elderly woman behind the register acted like our cash was contaminated. Honestly, I wish I’d used a touchless card just to ease her anxiety. The whole experience made my friends and me feel unwelcome.

I’d skip it— the atmosphere was...
