Update on 10/16/19: If this hospital would have really listened to the patient's concern, I would have known what the real issue is. As any reader can see the history below about my big frustration towards this hospital. I had to go to the UK Hospital to get support and they did it. I have dermoids cysts. Wonderful! And all the Cumberland hospital told me "You have nothing" when I felt passing out due to the acute pain that left me unable to even walk? I asked them please run other tests (Xray, Cat Scan, ultrasound), and they refused because I did not have PCP at that time. BS. When in the world a physician let go patients who can be in real danger just because they might not have PCP? Will they just recommend Ibuprofen? What a pity. I hope they improve their health care services and please, listen to your patients. The facility is good, but I am not satisfied with the staff support. I am not saying all but some. Blood spilled from the IV tube when the nurse was trying to connect another syringe with a pain medication. Should be a more compassionate and proactive nurse, like the ones I remember from HFHWB in Michigan, even if it was not his fault, at least to give me some wipes to clean the blood from my arm. My DOB was wrong. Initially I said I did not have insurance info because we just moved in to this area, but I gave my SSN and stated more than once that my husband had processed Medicaid and was approved but out was about two days ago and we did not have more details or card to present. The lady, however, asked if I wanted to speak to a financial advisor, ignoring the fact I gave her my SSN# to check. However, just while I was at the ER, I got from my husband a picture of the letter where it mentions the insurance we have. Another nurse took the info and said with an apology that nothing was crosschecked before, otherwise through my SSN the insurance could have been verified. But the worst part is that I expressed many, many times about the accute pain on my right side of my back, and either it is or could have any relation to the abdominal pain that brought me to ER, I mentioned as well the cholecystectomy on Dec. 6, 2918, and two days after I had a liver hemorrhage that kept me for about a week, 3 days in ICU and 2 in recovering. Guess what? The doctor thought this happened over a year ago! They only ran blood test and urine test, all is "fine" and nothing accute is seen and I need to have a PCP (I know that, but we just moved two Sundays ago!) I am leaving this hospital with a bitter taste and truly concerned about my care. The pain on my back is still there and the abdominal pain is also there, in a less scale. It could be a GI bug, that is what they told me. Not even an xray or a CT was done. The staff needs to ne more caring, listen to your patients. I have been in other hospitals before because my husband has Crohn's and at least the care was optimus. I will not bring him neither my child here if any Emergency occurs, God forbids that too. *now at home, I am reading again the discharge papers, it says my Race is Asian... i am literally laughing because I am NOT. I look like but I am not. I am from Hispanic roots, from South America. Seriously, not even that information they could take correctly?! **New update: I just received a text message which asks to fill out a survey regarding my visit to this hospital. It certainly appears then they still have the wrong DOB because mine, the only one, doesn't match their...
Read moreI went a few days ago and had my son here and had a c section. The c section was great I was very well taken care of by the doctor and he made me feel comfortable and laughing and I did not have a traumatic experience. Afterwards while I was recovering the first nurse I had was amazing she listened and stayed with my pain level and didnât hurt me at all. The nurse after her was very rude and mean to me and my mom. She kept rushing me to get up and walk around and I was already sitting up and I was in a ton of pain and she didnât care she kept making me rush myself and it ended up hurting me more. She threatened me with a catheter when I was doing everything I was supposed to do. The nurse after her was the worst nurse ever. She should not be a nurse and care for people she is horrible! She was Rushing me and making me cry and upset. Didnât listen to what doctors said and didnât care for me as a patient at all. I was in such severe pain with her and she wouldnât help me when she could have given me medicine or something and she never did. She said I needed to deal with the pain and deal with it. Well the doctor came in and told her to give me a heating pad for my neck spasm and medicine and she was so rude with it she gave me medicine and then the heating pad she kept pushing it at me and just threw it on the bed and said here and walked out. I asked for coffee a lot cause I had to walk and they wouldnât let me sleep and they got angry with me for that. When she gave me my shot she kept pushing me after the pain I was in. I asked for a minute to relax and sit down and she huffed and said I needed to hurry. She was not gentle she just stabbed the needle too far in and hurt me and then said she missed and stabbed me again. My mom said she didnât miss. The needle was empty when she stabbed me the second time. I ended up with her as a nurse again before I went home and she is just horrible and Iâm sure there is more bad to come. She was rude to my mother and rolled her eyes and was mean to my mom about me and told my mother that she needed to go sit down and let her handle it all but she wasnât she just sat there and played on her phone. Letâs just say Iâm so tired after a few days and I fell over and needed help getting up from my mom because the nurses were so mean and rude and wouldnât let me sleep. They kept waking me up for the tiniest things. So Iâm writing this and Iâm falling asleep but I try to sleep and get yelled at. Nurses name is Tabitha, blonde, long hair with glasses and works in the recovery area for labor and delivery. Please fix it. She is the worst nurse to ever have there. She needs to learn to be patient and not rude to patients who just had surgery and need to recover and not be in pain because you want to rush them and make them cry because your being so mean to them. I cried for 4 hours because she wouldnât help me at all and she just kept walking in and saying rate your pain and I said 10 and she just said ok well thatâs not too bad and walks out. Iâm crying and puffy faced. She needs to either be suspended or fired because that nurse does not need to be around these types of patients. Imagine her with kids. DONT TRUST HER! Other than the nurses and how badly I was treated the doctors are all comforting and cared for me as a patient and doctor priddle and Bruner are the best duo to ever have walked the halls of that hospital. You want something done you need to get one of them to do it. Will not change my review till that nurse is...
Read moreIf I could give them a minus 10, I would! This review stems from a year of not getting any answers or feedback from Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. My mother had a fall, was unable to walk, crying in pain, bad cut above her right eye and was taken by ambulance to LCRH emergency room. Once there, blood was drawn and left on the counter, the room was nasty and no one was available to help or assist with WHY she was there. About forty five minutes later my mom needed to use the bathroom but was unable to walk. I had to go find someone to assist and was given a bed pan. My mother was in a lot of pain so I was afraid to move her and I again went for help. The lady came in and placed the bed pan then left and never returned to remove it. My mother stated that she did not place it all the way under her and she had urinated on the bed and herself. I then pulled it out and placed it in the tiny nasty sink. Later a young lady came in rolling a computer with her and started asking for payment information. I kindly told her that we had been waiting for almost two hours and still had not seen a physician and would not be giving any personal information until a physician started caring for my mother. The young lady said she understood and would come back. After almost two hours of waiting a doctor finally came in and ask what was going on. My mother was very upset and in pain (blood still coming down her face) and was trying to explain what happened. I started talking to him and he was very rude and hushed me. I ask him if she could get an MRI and stated that she would need a doctorâs referral. I told him that would not be a problem and I could get one faxed. He then said MRIâs were by appointments only. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY ROOM!! From this point his name is Dr. Useless. It rhymes with his last name. Dr. Had X-rays done and said nothing showed any wrong. I again asked for MRI and he stated he would have a scan done. Scan came back and again he said nothing was wrong. My mother still could not walk, and her eye was never taken care of. After 7 hours of being there he discharged her to go home. We had to ask for a wheelchair to get her to the car. Next day I took her to Baptist Health Hospital emergency room and explained everything and they took her straight to have a MRI. Her pelvis was broken! All staff members and doctors were so concerned and caring and came up with a plan of care for my mother. They also helped with her cut above her eye which they said she should have had stitches. Total time spent there was three hours and forty five minutes! I called the LCRH to speak with the CEO and of course was pushed to someone else. I told the team member what had happened. She said she would send me a form to fill out. Weeks went by and I never received it. Called several times and kept being told that she would send it. About 2 months later I received a form that did not pertain to anything! It was about a surgical procedure and asking questions about the procedures that was performed! Nothing to do with the EMERGENCY ROOM AND DR. USELESS! I really hope and pray that this doesnât happen to anyone else! I feel so bad for people that do not have anyone to help with their care and they have to go to this pitiful hospital. Since then, I have talked to 17 people that work there and they all said that LCRH is the worst! They also said if they could work somewhere...
