Regal Sonora — Local services in Sonora

My movie hasn’t event started yet, not satisfied and I am already 99% positive I will never come back to your Sonora location. We came to watch the 6:30pm showing of Inside Out 2 on Tuesday 6/25. Walking in gives the feel of any other theater. We walk to the concession stand to get snacks and purchase tickets. We get 2 dipndots, 1 large pop corn, one small life water bottle and one large life water bottle; 4 movie passes for 2 adults and 2 children… $94. $94!!! For what?!? You don’t even offer alcohol! We walk to our theater, probably I’d say 6:23pm, the screen is off, it’s the old flip down seating- weird I thought most every theater had updated, even our po-dunk theater in angels camp has pleather recliners with tray tables. We sit in our assigned seats and I’m instantly met with a stagnant urine smell from my seat. Ew. I move over a few as the theater is empty. The screen did not come on until 6:30.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around what was worth $94? We usually go to our Angels Camp theater but happened to be running errands in Sonora so we decided for here. I am instantly regretting it, I asked my fiance if it was ethical to return our movie tickets and just take the snacks. Our theater in rural Angels Camp, California, not only has the nice recliner seating but also offers alcohol, for less than half the price of your theater.

This place is disgusting, over priced and poorly ran. Again, I’m 99% positive we won’t...

This is the only place to catch a film for miles. Their popcorn is particularly bland for more than $5. There aren’t any toppings for the popcorn, either. The candy selection is super basic, curated by someone who obviously doesn’t eat candy. The signature promotional posters aren’t ever any good (I don’t even know how one messes that up?)

I signed up for the members program but this cinema in 2018 can’t look up membership by a phone number or name so I never get to redeem a thing or do whatever it is they want me to do with it. Whatever. If you ever have to wait behind someone to buy a ticket, there is a 70% chance their conversation with the ticket holder is about a lost membership.

The restrooms are literally the nicest thing about this place. There is way too much going on in there.

Actually watching a movie is alright. Screen is fine, sound is sometimes nice and loud, but the seats are pretty bad. They squeak, so you can’t get frisky with your lover. They also feel like they were installed like 30 degrees too far forward and sitting in them merely pushes them to 90 degrees strait up for two hours and thirty seven minutes, depending on if it’s a Marvel movie or not. They have two upholders and that’s the only redeeming feature.

And the tickets are...

Though I have tried to call Regal in Sonora I couldn't get any response......Yesterday (Sunday) I took my 2 15 yr. olds to the movie and the woman in charge wouldn't let me step out of the theater nor go to the bathroom without being followed. The door man also checked to make sure I was in the theater with the girls.....weird.....she informed me that I could not stay in the Lobby nor on the bench out side of the theater room.... she finally got frustrated with me and offered me a refund . She took my debt card into her office and it took her forever to get it back to me....she gave me my two stubs circled and told me it would take a week to get my refund. I got a call this morning from my bank stating someone there through Paypal charged 400.00 even and was routing it through Syria. She tried to steal 400.00 from me. She knew I wouldn't be able to contact any one there. I will NEVER NEVER go there again. I will tell every one I know the same thing. Pay cash if you must.....I will take them to Angels...
