I understand that the cost of food products has gone up and restaurants need to adjust their prices accordingly. What I don’t find fair is the raising of prices and then trying to pass off smaller portions. Sorry restaurant owners, it’s one or the other.
We used to love our favorite breakfast restaurants. We had three that we would visit regularly. I have recently posted my dissatisfaction with Barrow’s (formally Perko’s), which at one time I had nothing but praise and we were regulars … good food, good service. Recently, we have had to complain about being served lukewarm to cold food and had to ask it to be warmed up (yea, we know it goes into the microwave). Then on the opposite end, we have received charred or overcooked food items and served fruit that should have remained on the vine. Sure, it is often taken care of, but we have already waited 20 minutes or more. I also wondered; in a recent post, why were turkey patties and Egg Beaters removed?
The following received a nasty reply from the owners and was posted to intimidate me. Sorry, didn't work Amanada Barrow.
Just last week I posted a review of Barrow’s. My review was not scathing, but certainly to the point. Barrows was our go to place for a nice breakfast. As a matter of fact, we have been patrons of Barrow’s (formally Perkos) for twenty-four years plus. We loved our servers and hostesses, and many were friends. The food was always acceptable. Sadly, my post was taken in a manner not intended and some feelings were hurt. I received a communication from a Barrow’s employee telling me that my review was unwarranted. I have posted other reviews in the past and never lost friends over them. We will not be going to Barrows, and we will miss...
Read moreHi I have never went on a site before to make a comment but tonight I really feel I need to. I work at the perkos in Sonora and tonight was a great Friday night. We had a full restaurant with a wait line. Our cooks were doing a great job and our customers were amazing. My co worker had a incident with one of his tables. The man and his wife and their small child ordered their meal and then the mother left the table. Mean while all their food showed up. Alex ask the husband if he would like him to keep his wife's plate warm. The husband said no it would probably be ok. The wife was gone long enough for the food to get cold. When she returned she told Alex her food was cold. Alex offered to warm it. She said no she wanted a whole new plate. My manager Freda came to the table and ask how she could help. Lady said cook another one or take it off Bill. So she took it off Bill. Then the man went to register and said he wanted his taken off too. He was at that point told there was no reason to take his off Bill. He lost his temper and used the F bomb in front of his little boy and a full restaurant of family's. Freda told him he needed to leave. Other customers started to get involve and told him to leave also. Freda did nothing wrong but stand up for our staff and tell this man he needed to leave and he should be ashamed talking like that in front of his child and other family's. This was not the first time we have had to deal with this couple but I hope it's the last....
Read moreHmmmm. They were very nice, hence the second star, but, I mean, if I die I WILL come back from the grave and take that star back with me to the very gates of wherever it is I end up and that star and I will spend and eternity together thinking back on this, possibly my last meal. Some of the food was good. Okay, the burger. The burger was good. The bacon was cooked to perfection and was a thicker piece than some restaurants give. So, perhaps, had my husband and I ordered differently, this would be a 4 star review. However, the tri tip that I ordered medium rare and received blue af and off colored in places makes me worry about how I'm going to be spending the next several hours of my life. My husband excitedly ordered the taco salad and found it to be very underwhelming. The flavors were bland and there was a thin liquid soaking into the bottom of the shell. The rice I received was very over cooked, or perhaps under cooked, as it was crunchy in an unenjoyable way. The beans were also bland. But the chili relleno was delicious. The carrot cake was very good, however, and the restrooms were clean, but the men's room sink didn't work and that only adds to the health concerns I'm harboring. Oh. And the fries. They tasted like they had been sitting and were not...
