Just recently moved back to Bradenton and have been down to the Venice habitat for humanity store a number of times and forgot we had one in Bradenton. I went, and boy was I surprised. They must have new ownership since I last shopped here because the prices are outrageous.
The new stock, such as tiles, paint, Small kitchen housewares those prices are fine, but the used items and the furniture are wild. Last week they had to give away furniture for free cuz clearly no one was buying it. Used bedroom furniture for 600 $700. They have a used Ethan Allen outdoor chair sitting in the back for $300. Sure, it's Ethan Allen, But it is second hand. Most of the couches and chairs are 100, 300, $500 and they're all used. They have very well loved but very used Ryobi tools in the back there's two items there that they have marked for $200, they've been sitting there over a month with no price reduction and no movement. If you question them about it they'll say that they research all of the prices, but this is the habitat for humanity store, it's supposed to be an affordable option for people and wherever you're researching these prices they're not making it affordable. I went in the other day and I saw some artwork that totally matched my theme but It's second hand art not even paintings just prints in frames why is it still $50?
They will tell you at the register that they are voted the number one habitat for humanity ReStore in Florida, I don't know that I could ever believe that. I will continue driving down to Venice where the prices are fantastic and the selection is actually better.
I'm giving three stars simply because you can get new stock items such as paint and tiles and some housewares for reasonable prices here, but they need a reality check on the used furniture prices for sure. I think they've lost sight of the local purpose behind even having a habitat for...
Read moreAn absolutely delightful shopping experience. I frequent the Bradenton ReStore location, because I can always find good deals there for my household. However, last Saturday my shopping visit was exceptional. First of all, they had a great sale of sofas and chairs, 50% off. I found exactly what I was looking for (several things in fact). In addition, the staff members who were helping me with my purchases were superbly helpful. They assisted me with all the questions I had, helped load the furniture into my car and were professional and courteous throughout. The gentlemen who merit special thanks and recognition are: Jereme, Tony, Colby, Jarred and KC. Every one of them was assisting me in different departments, while I roamed the store for quite a bit of time. I really appreciated it, and I am sure that everyone who shops at this ReStore location will feel valued and cared for. See...
Read moreFrom a donator perspective, I just wanted to take a moment to post this message of gratitude. The team in Manatee is amazing! Kimmy scheduled my pickup and took down my inventory. She was professional, personable, and so incredibly helpful and positive! Next up, Jason and Kadeem. They called me when they were in route and arrived on-time with smiles on their faces. Jason took inventory again and walked me through the donation form, while Kadeem prepared the items to load on the truck. They were so appreciative of my donations and took such good care loading all items for their next owners. They even helped dig out the donated items from a very packed house with lots of boxes and other furniture in the way. They were so kind and professional. All are assets to Manatee Restore and Habitat for Humanity. I highly recommend and will donate again. Wonderful cause with wonderful...
