On Monday night (June 10th, 2019) around 11pm, my nephew and I came to this particular Checkers location to the Walk-Up area to place an order. I was on the phone initially getting the order from my friend and then I hung up and we proceeded to stand there waiting for the cashier to take our order. Well, this lady looked at me and rolled her eyes at me (actually twice) and then she started talking to her manager (who was white also) who was standing next to her and the manger was on their cell phone. Now, all the while, NO ONE inside Checkers (the cashier, the manager, or even the other 2 workers there - all women) even bothered to acknowledge me & my nephew to open up the window to take our order. After about 10 minutes of this blatant disrespectful behavior, I decided to leave, but before I left, I ended up observing the cashier responding a white guy's request AFTER I left the Walk-Up window and she handed him some dipping sauce for his meal. That's when I REALIZED that it was something racial and I got EXTREMELY UPSET and my nephew got out of the car and went back to the Walk-Up window to try to speak with the manager about us being overlooked for placing an order, but they responded to the white guy AFTER we initially walked away. My nephew was told that "they were backed up" as the reason why they couldn't bother to take our order. Then my nephew got upset with that reason and walked away very mad. I mean, I would've understood that because I did see that the drive-thru had some backup traffic, but the fact that they didn't even bother to acknowledge us initially to even take our order, responding to someone else after we left the window, or even be willing to apologize for the situation and take our order anyway is COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL š”!
After this experience, I wanted to speak to the manager on duty the next day, so I called this Checkers location around 11:30am. When I called, the phone just rang and rang....NO ONE bothered to answer the phone.
The last thing I wanted to think about this experience as being a racial thing, but that's what this was. I decided right then and there that I WILL NEVER come back to this Checkers location to patronize. Those ladies who were working there that night really need to go through some SERIOUS customer service and sensitivity training.
SN: You should know that I DID call the Checkers/Rally's Guest Relations line and gave the representative (who gave EXCEPTIONAL customer service and was so respectful) a full report of my experience. I was told that this will be escalated and was given a reference...

Staff came out and offered me the general managers personal cell, at the time they had her on the phone and she asked her staff member to ask me to come in around 2:30 the next day. I was looking for a new place to live so I couldnāt make that happen considering I had already just showed for an interview.. None the less I make the effort and tell her I now have her number, Iāll keep her updated as to when I can come in after Iām done looking at properties. She says no problem and the next day Iām frequently updating her up until I tell her Iām on my way. I have my son with me as I obviously had childcare for our original interview but because she needed to reschedule I now had to bring him with me . I order my son Food and set up his tablet. While he eats she sits down and proceeds to tell me they arenāt hiring & that itās not ā season ā as if itās some waterfront bar and grille. This is checkers and Iām asking for 25 hours a week at night. You had my personal cell lady. You could have texted me you couldnāt hire me. You didnāt have to have me show up 2 times for that. Very unprofessional and I didnāt appreciate my time being wasted.
Aside from that the only star I could give was because the staff seem like hard working people. They went the extra mile to give me the general managers number and really did her job...
