The Valley at Eastport Golf Club sits on a piece of land nestled along the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway, just off Highway 17 between North Myrtle Beach and Little River, SC. The course originally opened in 1988 and was designed by Dennis Griffiths. At only 6,200 yards from the back tees, The Valley at Eastport is a course that isn’t going to overpower many golfers, however, it’s not your typical Grand Strand layout. It has always been a favorite of locals and snowbirds in North Myrtle Beach and Little River and is especially popular for couples.

It’s more of a finesse course with lush tree-lined fairways and naturally undulating terrain that doesn’t permit you to spray the ball all over. The cleverly contoured Mini-Verde Bermuda greens will test any golfer no matter how good they are. Each hole presents a fresh, new look, and many demand skillful shot-making into and around meticulously manicured greens.

The par 3 holes at the Valley at Eastport Golf Club are challenging and all involve water. All four par-3s features greens that are set at the same angle, front left to back right.

Holes 17 and 18 are two finishing holes that can make or break a great round; they are incredibly long and challenging. Number 17 is a par 4 dogleg left that plays 434 yards from the Blue tees. It requires a long drive down the right side that opens up the hole and leaves a long but unobstructed shot into the green. Anything left of the middle of the fairway will require a long approach shot over trees. Either way, you’ll need to carry the large pond that fronts the green. Hit it right of the green and you’ll most likely find the bunker.

In my mind, Number 18 should be a par 5. As it is, it’s a 468-yard par 4 (I’ve played par 5s that are shorter). A great drive is still going to leave at least 225 yards, most of which is over water. The way I played it was driver, 9-iron short of the water, and pitching wedge over the water to the green. Pull your tee shot left and you could easily find one of the three bunkers. Par – or even bogey – is a good way to end your round.

Last Word: For the most part, the greens are small and require accurately hit approach shots. Before your round, warm up on Valley at Eastport’s chipping and putting green. If you’re not hitting your short irons and you have trouble with your short game, you may have some problems. The speed of the practice putting green mirrors what you’ll experience on the course. If you need to hit a few balls to loosen up, there’s a driving range just across the street at Harbour View. There are several blind shots, so take a moment to drive ahead and see exactly what’s in store.

The 6th tee box offers a great view of the historical Governor’s Lighthouse. This lighthouse was built in 1984 by Governor Richard Riley to honor all of South Carolina’s past and present governors and stands at the end of Coquina Harbor. The Valley at Eastport is the only golf course in the area with such a view.

They are also only one of a handful of courses with live oaks throughout the golf course and sycamore tree between the 15th and 16th holes that are probably a couple of hundred years old. These Sycamore trees are featured in the club’s logo.

The Valley at Eastport’s goal is to provide you with a quality experience, exceptional service, and a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Inside the clubhouse, the Valley at Eastport has a well-stocked pro shop that features some of the best equipment and apparel available. The Valley at Eastport offers several membership plans including one designed specifically for non-residents. Other memberships include golf and social memberships, single and family memberships, and...

I have mixed feelings about this place, the overall course was okay at best. Slow play, alot of birds on the fairways so there's alot of poop on the ground. Not very navigation friendly, there wasn't any signs pointing you to the next hole, just cart paths that broke off & aimlessly jointed together. The club house was alittle out dated. Felt like i was in the 90s. Not sure the guys name inside the clubhouse (younger guy, we'll call him Mr. Rude ass) but when I checked in for my 925 tee time he gave me an attitude telling saying "you're running behind I see". Not good morning, welcome, happy Sunday anything just you're late! when I commented back it "what, it's 921" he tells me "NO, it's 930" & points to a clock on the wall. I looked at my watch & phone, than showed him my phone screen & said "no, it's 921. Your clock is fast, im on time" He rolls his eyes, takes my money & rushes me out the door. No apology, accountability of being wrong, nothing. The man at the bags & carts was really nice. He was funny making jokes, helped take the bags out of the car & loaded them into the cwrt for us. It's clear out of these 2 people who is happy with life & the 1 who's miserable. At turn off 9 we stop in for the clubhouse for a snack, sandwich & cold drink. The lady behind the counter was sweet, she made sure we had everything we needed including Xtra mayo & napkins. Of course when I tried to sit & eat my lunch Mr. Rude ass comments "make the turn quick, there's people on the green at 9" I looked out the window & realized it was the same people that have behind us the entire day. 2 older women just having fun enjoying their Sunday morning playing some golf. Or as I like to call it breakfast golf (not serious, no rush. Just fun & happiness) I replied to MRA that's fine they can lap us, im hungry. Whao, let me tell you MRA did not like that, he said "nope,no lapping. Play thru". At this point I was pist, this is now the 2nd time MRA has given me an attitude for nothing. I'm good enough give this place my money but once it's in their hands they forget how to act & talk to people 🤦‍♂️ I grabbed my sandwich & said loud enough for MRA to hear me " all these tables & chairs & you can't even eat the food you buy here, I guess the back 9 is rushed golf" Whatever, i left with sandwich & drink in hand & ate it at the 10th tee box contemplating weather or not this guy had it in for me the moment I walked into his clubhouse, cause that's how I felt. For the $50 spent im not going back there again. Only 2 bathroom houses on the course, 1 in the front 9 & 1 on the back 9. Ha, i almost forgot. 14th hole we had to wait because people walked on to the course from the Apts/condos right there & was just riffling off drives from the tee box. Dude let off about 10-15 drives, some pretty good drives I might add I pick the balls up when I was out there. So no ranger, people just walk on & play, no beer cart nothing. If owners or management is reading this may I make a suggest. Stand out in a good way, do things to attract people in & would want people to come back. Warm sandwiches & cold attitudes isnt it. I found maybe 3 course that's I've played more then once & cause the people are nice, the greens were kept up on & offered people things like a nice bar to eat lunch at & have a few cold beers. I didn't feel rushed, they had a beverage cart that went out to serve people. Do better valley...

Me and three of my buddies Booked a 5:32 p.m. tee time for nine holes. While we started the man at the desk Dave and his two co-workers asked the person signing us in how long we would take. He replied back with "about an hour and a half or so we're not the greatest that's why we booked late tee time."  Later This was followed up on hole 6 after all four of us had already teed off. Dave had drove up to us on his golf cart to tell us that we were behind pace and we needed to hurry up which he told us abruptly. This was at 6:30 p.m. 1 hour in to our tee off while on the 6th hole. This prompted us to be upset that we paid our money and we paid our money and we're being rushed for our tee time to finish unusually early, so we stayed our pace. Then followed up on hole nine where two of us were already on the green and the other two were on the water on the opposite side getting ready to hit for our second stroke dave showing back up to harrass us. This happened at 7:25pm less then 2 hours after tee off. Dave pulled back up on his golf cart yelling at us to finish the whole telling us that we needed to get off the course or he was going to call the cops if we did not pack up. We became upset as paying customers on correct pace and it turned into an argument with Dave telling him we were not even 2 hours in and we're minutes within finishing our last hole. This followed with Dave telling us if we did not get off he would call the cops and that we were playing through taking way too long. After all of this we dropped all of our stuff into our cars and return the carts at exactly 7:35 exactly 2 hours and 2 minutes after our tee off. It felt extremely rude, rushed and just disrespectful for us to pay the same money as anybody else almost as if it was our fault that we booked the available tee time. Extremely...
