Such a lovely, lush walk through the wetlands adjacent to Lake Tahoe. Just a short drive from So. Lake Tahoe hustle and bustle, where you leave the noise behind and hear the wind in the treetops. I'm serious! I was so surprised at the quietude given the proximity to Hwy 89. It's a gem. And, bonus- it's pretty small so you can walk all the inland trails in about 20 minutes and then head to the beach via the beach trail (about 10 minutes), which was Mark Twains trail for the "tenderfooted." While on the wetlands boardwalk, do be sure to pause at the lookout point-- its lovely with Lake to your right, mountain to your front & left, and bright green wetlands spread out beneath you.
