In A Nutshell:
-Kiva Beach is an awesome beach to take your dogs. -It's a strip of sand that divides Lake Tahoe & a smaller body of very calm & shallow water, which is perfect for you & your dogs to swim in. -The beach has enough room for to lounge & relax, but since you have dogs running around, it's best to keep an active-restraint w/ your dogs by voice command. -The scenery is very beautiful, especially in June where there was still snow in the mountains, but the weather was warm.
Overall, if you bring your dogs to South Lake Tahoe, I highly, highly recommend taking them to here to enjoy their vacation. They will never forget...
Read moreThis is where all the locals take their dogs to the beach. It's cool and chill and rife with that game where young people throw frisbees at beer cans that are balanced on a stick. The water is shallow and relatively warm in the summer, so you can walk a long way out.

Read moreBeautiful area, but as of this past weekend, the water levels are so high there’s very limited to no accessible shoreline. At some point, the water went right up to the edge of the trail. If you’re willing to walk the trail a bit, you can find some small sandy spots. We had young kids with us and the trail is not stroller or wagon friendly and we ended up at a spot that is really far away from restrooms and parking. Still had an amazing time!
