School District of South Milwaukee — Local services in South Milwaukee

Ok, so idk what happened to my review I made two ish years ago, but imma make a new updated version of it. So I give the school district 3 stars, just due to the amount of stuff that happened in my experience in the middle and my first year of high school here (been in the district since 4K) police were involved with a few of my friends (different students) situations in elementary school, and middle school. In the high school the staff of kids try their best to call out the people who smoke in the bathrooms but no matter how much we do stuff, people still be smoking in the bathrooms. Kids would get mad at you for even just using the bathroom as it was intended for (not my experience because I never use the bathrooms there, but I have heard stories from my friends) my first year of high school was amazing besides the fact that for the first few weeks all you smelled walking past the bathroom was weed (specifically the girls bathroom across from the commons) it’s horrendous by the behavior of the students who continue to smoke. As a Child who still attends this school, I’m always just skated to use the bathroom just because of the smoking. New topic now. Because of everyone now just coming out of being the LGBTQIA+ community, the high school does a really good hop of supporting their students! As a Child WHOs also a part of the community, it’s a very safe place for students to come out to the school. But the down side is, is that the students can be rude about it. If not all of the staff members will stick up to anyone who’s bullied. Not just people who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ but also people of color too! My first year of high school a teacher had to have one of their students get out of the room for making a racist joke towards one of the other students. They were really calm about it and spoke to both the person who made the “joke,” and the one who had the “joke” towards to. Another thing to mention is the variety of all the extra circulars that they provide. As a student who is in the SMHS Theater Programm and the Robotics Program, I’d say that they’re supper supportive and really it’s really fun to be in! Another complaint about this school is that their scheduling system can be bad sometimes… I had this issue when I was again in the first year of high school, my second semester schedule was messed up. I had Accelerated Biology removed from it because it was colliding with my German class. I was lucky to have one of my friends point it out first semester or I would have had to retake or get my schedule changed late. A quick reminder is to double check your schedules if you have...

Worst school district on this planet. The schools tell children that if they get threatened to just call the cops next time it happens, or to deal with it. Never deal with any bullying issues, let children smoke in the schools and just over all don’t give a dam about anything and lie to the parents when you bring up anything to them. Very disappointed when signing my 12yr old 7th grader up for school to find out they have no transportation. Some parents have to work and cannot be there to take them to school. They handed me City Bus schedules!!!! With human sex trafficking on a serious high rise how smart is it to have young children on city bus stops?!?! Most ridiculous school district ever....
