I originally left a review on Facebook to share my experience at Taco Stop with other potential patrons but have since decided to leave a more detailed review on google as the owner left a very unprofessional, snarky comment to my review. I see based off of other negative reviews that this is the norm for this business. So here it is. My review: I was originally drawn to Taco Stop because they advertise authentic Mexican food. Being the Mexican loving foodie that I am I could not wait to try it. We walked in and saw it is set up where you order at the counter and then seat yourselves. I was taken aback that they do not offer margaritas. It’s a must have for me when I eat Mexican food. They do not have any drinks on tap and you have to pay for everything, even water. That’s fine though. I do not mind paying for what I consume. We all ordered chimichangas with a side of rice and beans. When the food was ready it was simply placed on the counter by the register. No one told us our food was ready or that we needed to come back to the counter to claim it. It would have been nice to at least holler over to us that it was our food sitting there. So it sat there 5 or so minutes before we realized it was ours and we needed to come get it. So after we retrieved our food and sat back down I realized all the chimichangas were sitting in a pool of grease. I realize chimichangas are deep fried and expect there to be some residual grease but this was VERY excessive. I eat a few bites and start to get nauseous from it. So I through the rest of it away. My family did as well. None of us liked it and felt sick the rest of the day. We took the beans and rice to go and ate it the next day. It was very bland. Again, when I think of Mexican food I think flavor. I did not get this in anything we ordered. I am disappointed in the food but even more disappointed in to unprofessionalism displayed from the owner. Reviews are a way to learn and grow as a business and sometimes even win back unhappy customers. Never should you tell someone to “look up what that means” or “next time…read the menu”. It is best not to say anything if you lack the customer service skills to respond kindly to...
Read moreWe are regular customers at this location but over time communication has been an issue, orders wrong. Received food with a pile of hair in it. We requested a manager to call us about this matter. it took 4 days for a manager to take up the matter and when the call was returned, the woman who called was not a manager and said not their problem, they all wear hair nets. Being regular customers and their concern of the issue was unimportant, I would find a new Mexican food place to eat, there is no shortage of them
Update: So to be clear, we called on Friday and was told we had to wait for the manager to respond. No response from manager until we chased them down on TUESDAY. If food is your business and someone has a serious issue with it, if it mattered, someone would have reached out to us right away. We would not have even got to this point but still did not get a manager just received a refund from worker with out a call from owner or manager. But the manager responds to my google review within two hours and not so much as an apology once form anyone. Instead if you read the response below and ALL other reviews, its like a 16 year girl with a Instagram account responding and placing blame elsewhere. Facts are, food should NEVER leave a facility without inspecting it close for HAIR in it. We loved the food, thought the food was delicious as why we ordered all the time. Over recent months we have had minor issues with wrong orders but not worth a complaint. I see the responses for the positive reviews, no one thanks or responds positively to those reviews such as a thank you, just acts like it is expected but EVERY negative review is not their fault. Its too bad if this is really the owner/manager responding to the reviews because being wrong is okay and sometimes mistakes happen. But to not be clear and make sure everyone will try harder to assure their customers they wont allow this to happen again says enough on its own. We did get refunded after 4 days of chasing down someone to make things right. Try...
Read moreI've stopped in here 2x before and walked out because my guts said ah nope. Despite high prices i decide to stop this time on lunch break only to be very disappointed. The girl at cashier taking orders to begin with doesn't seem to know the menu and hard of hearing and got my friends order completely wrong. Not even near anything she asked for. We return the order and explain what she wanted and she took it to the back to let whoever know so we assumed their making her order correct. She comes back 10min later with same wrong basket of food to ask if we still wanted to order what we wanted but we had to pay again. We argued back and forth about what she ordered and that it was her mistake and we didn't have to pay anything else. She leaves us again and we just decide to get our $ refunded. She decides to take 3 other orders, when i go up to clarify everything and ask to speak with a manager or owner after a long time waiting, the other young worker comes out to say the same thing. That we had to pay again. We then argue about our refund which she couldn't even figure out how to refund back to card and just gave us cash back. As we walk out we realize on top of it all that she can't count or add either because she was $2 short. The tacos from the one correct order weren't even that great. Moral of this all is just go with your guts. Should've never went there and wasted my lunch break arguing with HS girls. The correct thing they should've done period was just make our correct order and if anything charged us the difference. Not we have to pay a new order all over again. To top it all we still never saw an owner or manager. Very disappointed and will never go there again. Despite all the mistakes i hope Taco stop learns a lesson from this to better...
