I lived here for almost 7 years. When I moved in, everything was fine. The women working in the leasing office were pretty cool, maintenance would come and fix things with a quickness, and overall it was very affordable. After a few years of staying there, I noticed things began to change. Maintenance guys wouldnât properly fix things, it was rumored that the landlord couldnât keep maintenance workers, and the women in the leasing office didnât seem to care about issues that were reported to them. In 2020, I noticed water damage on the ceiling in my bedroom. I reported it to the women in charge, and nothing was done about it. In Jan. 2021, I came home to my bedroom ceiling leaking water due to heavy rain that night. My carpet was soaked. It took them two months to get someone out to find the leak and temporarily fix it. Months later, I noticed black mold and informed them of this issue. Again they did nothing. Finally, in Oct. 2021, maintenance came to scrape the mold off of the ceiling and repaint the ceiling. They so called treated the soaked carpet using a carpet cleaner. Unfortunately, mold was in the carpet. By the beginning of 2022, my ceiling started leaking again. I informed them of this issue, and they did nothing. The women kept giving me false promises of maintenance coming to look at my ceiling to plug the leak again. In April, apparently âsomeoneâ broke into all of the basements in the complexes and stole copper to the ac units causing so many ppl to be without central air. On top of preexisting issues my apartment was no longer habitable. I ended up leaving and moving in with my dad. I officially moved out July 31st and bought my first home less than two months later. Colonial Meadows was cool some yrs back, but they definitely ruined renting for me. I was so disappointed in how things turned out while dealing with them. You simply get what you pay for. If you can find better than these...
Read moreI lived in the Colonial Meadows for 6yrs. I had heard horrible thing about it, but it was the opposite for me. I enjoyed my years of living over there. I had cool neighbors (all were older than me) and I was close to the front entrance on the far end, away from the action. I paid my rent on time so I never had a problem with management and they always showed respect, never had a disagreement. Maintenance was even good at the time. When ever I had a problem, I'd just simply call up to the front office and they would have the problem fixed before I got in from work. I eventually moved out because I was ready to start a family and my place was too small. The only problem I had was maybe 2 months before I moved, someone had broken into my car and trashed it. I didnt even report it, I took my loss and kept it moving. So minded my business and kept to myself, which is what I would recommend for anyone that's looking to move there. Not sure what it's like now but the rent was cheap at the time and it helped me to save money. Can be a good starter apartment unless you like mixing in with the rowdy crowd then you might have...
Read moreTerrible experience! I would not recommend! There is ALWAYS an issue with the water and heat! There is a new management company and it started off well but then turned bad really fast! They are rude and disrespectful and very unprofessional! They are also going up on rent about $700-$800 WITHOUT changes, updates, or upgrades to the actual apartments! There were changes that were made to the outside, however they werenât changes that were beneficial to the residents. They planted plants that were already dead in November and that made it an inconvenience for parking for the residents. They also moved the dumpsters far away from the complex which makes residence have to drive in order to empty their trash. They also went around putting tags on peoples cars if they werenât up to St. Louis county standards threatening to tow them even tho this is private property and nothing to do with St. Louis county! Terrible experience and DO...
