I live right next door Raley's. When it first opened up, I thought the prices were high but it was very convenient and the employees were very helpful and courteous. I would go to the deli almost every other day. The sandwiches were good and reasonably priced. In the last year I have limited my intake at the deli because the service has been the worst of any place I have seen in Reno. Not to mention that on two completely separate occasions the person making my sandwich must have been a new hire. Both times the person made my Salami sandwich with four slices of Salami. Aren't they trained before they serve customers? $7 for a small sandwich is a rip-off already. I don't think I should ever have to police someone making my sandwich. Management should have already done THEIR job.
In the past three months I have had three occasions in which I stood at the deli for longer than five minutes while many employees passed me by without even asking me if I had been helped or needed any help.
One more thing that isn't okay is the ridiculous mark up of every item in the store. Even the ice, which is the same ice that everyone in town sells, is more expensive than even the 7-11's and the gas stations in town. It's almost a dollar more than Rainbow market.
There have also been more than a few instances when I bought something that I didn't check the expiration date and unbelievably, the date had expired months prior to my purchase. My mother has had the same experience at a different Raley's in Reno. Many times some of her items were more than a year over due.
The thing that really bothers me now is how someone with an obviously lower normal IQ has decided that while the corona virus is going around, we should all be corralled to entering and exiting through the same doors. To make it an ever more ridiculous set up, after 8 p.m. the only door used is changed to the doors on the opposite end of the store. Tonight the door being used had a sign that said to use other door. After I walked down to the doors that wouldn't open, I returned to the first door thinking that I had misread the message. I hadn't and was a little irritated that I had been misdirected.
The bottom line is that I won't be returning to that Raley's for a long...
Read more4 years ago they started e-cart services. I wrote a review for three stars back then becuase every order i placed i would specify items that i did not want replacements for. I woudl arive and half those items would be swapped without approval. It never got better over the years. 2025: I now shop strictly in-store. Raley's E-cart just isn't for me. The store is clean and staff is somewhat friendly. Most counter workers ignore you for about 2-4 minutes before assisting you (after work shopper so between 4-6pm for me). Prices are way higher than other stores in the area, particularly WinCo and Trader Joes. While i don't get much better customer service there, the prices save me thousands a year. As a person who is a 3-5 minute drive away, its only worth it come here if i have something i need in an emergency. This place isn't terrible, its just not for me anymore so...
Read moreCustomer service has gone downhill. Was at self checkout and needed assistance, there were two employees there and both walked away without acknowledging us. Another customer commented to us, “well if you walked right out with your cart then maybe they’ll come back” I actually had to go find them for help and they were just talking. I asked for assistance and got attitude. I work retail, there’s no excuse. I don’t treat my customers like that and don’t think I should be treated that way as a customer. I shop here because it’s convenient but I’ll go out of my way now to go somewhere else. Had another bad customer service experience this past weekend and didn’t comment but tonight I felt I had to say something because it’s not a one time circumstance. Sad, used to be a great place to shop, especially when Stephon was a manager. He was so...
