UPDATED 06/30/22 – Tin Roof deleted my review from their Facebook page, as well as, blocked me. Tin Roof Heather Hanley, owner has made unfounded accusations that I am having my friends post negative reviews on my behalf. NOT TRUE! Heather Hanley, owner is also accusing me of harassment and bullying.
My RESPONSE in regards to: Response from the owner 4 days ago. There are inaccurate and NOT FACTUAL statements in the contents of Heather Hanley, owners response. “… dye transfer occurs when the clothing you wear leaves dye (or residue) on your furniture. Not all clothing does this, most often it is caused by heavy dark denim (and usually this type of clothing comes with warning labels). 🔸I seldom wear denim. Damage occurred 12/17/21-01/31/22 (7 weeks) in winter when I mostly wear cotton leggings.🔹This often occurs with automobiles as well, which we understand Karen also experienced.” 🔸Heather Hanley not that this is your business but since you talked about it in your response… “I have authorization to replace the seat cover … Amber Maddox with Mercedes- Benz of Spokane”🔹”We have serviced and cleaned” 🔸NO they TRIED with minimal results…🔹”provided a cleaning kit” 🔸NO I purchased my own.🔹 “and offered to replace the cushion covering at our cost (which was rejected”🔸I NEVER REJECTED”🔹”… not being addressed by cleaning.🔸 After several man hours your leather expert and employee weren’t able to clean and remove the dye transfer. I don’t think a 71 year old widow would be able to clean the leather either.🔹”We are happy to work through reasonable resolutions to achieve positive outcomes” 🔸After 7 weeks, a WEAR issue is NOT normal and a reasonable resolution, when even your leather expert was unable to clean the chair would be to accept a return and exchange the furniture or give a full refund”🔹”Beautiful, subtle white leather always requires more care, cleaning and considerable for lifestyle. The type of leather is also clearly stated on the back of the sample when you chose it and addressed by your designer, who advised both the extended warranty and a different selection both of which were declined.”🔸NEVER saw a sample I chose the sofa & chair from the showroom floor. The designer NEVER advised me of either the extended warranty or a different selection and I NEVER declined.🔹In fact, the designer told me (in a text message) “it was Not Normal and told me Tin Roof would make it right”🔹Karen Schomer
Original review: The Tin Roof Showroom and Design Center 1727 E Sprague Ave, Spokane, WA 99202. Loyal customer until my recent purchase. Tin Roof sold me a motion sofa & matching chair $9,608.02. Sales date 05/27/21, 16 weeks ETA-estimated time arrival, delivery 12/17/21 (10 days shy of 7 months), 02/14/22 initial contact to Tin Roof regarding a problem with dark spots over the entire chair (ONLY 7 weeks & 3 days, having in my home). Tin Roof NEVER offered a warranty on the furniture & NEVER DISCLOSED the type of leather would TRANSFER DARK SPOTS from clothing a onto the furniture. Tin Roof NEVER suggested I would need to sit on a throw when sitting on this expensive leather furniture or I would NEED to use a special leather cleaner to remove dark spots from the furniture. I requested to return with a full refund. Tin Roof representative mentioned “reselect”. The Tin Roof DOES NOT stand behind the products they sell, when there’s a problem. Tin Roof sent a leather specialist to clean the chair after more than 45 minutes-hour with minimal results. Heather Hanley, owner sent me a “nasty” email saying it was NORMAL wear. She said the Bassett furniture and her would go into buying a cushion cover to replace the current one on the chair (never received). Heather also told me to throw something over the furniture when people sat on it to protect it. Hiding the beautiful pieces I spent $9,608.02 on! If you PM me I am happy to share my story of the problem and share photos I’ve taken. Along with the nasty email I received from the owner and the type of customer service you can expect if...
Read moreHello! My name is Colleen Combs. I am using my son's Google account to write this review. Within the last two months I purchased a sofa, love seat, sofa table, coffee table, bistro table and four 24" stools at The Tin Roof.
I had never been in your store prior to this first visit and was very impressed with the collection of furnishings, decorative items and exceptional quality of merchandise.
Shortly after I entered the store, I was approached by an Interior Design Associate named Jennifer Gerstner. Jennifer was friendly, informative, helpful and professional. She was never 'pushy' or annoying; allowing me plenty of time to shop on my own, generate questions, seek her assistance as I needed it and make my own decisions.
Ordering the furniture I decided to purchase was quick and effortless. Jennifer's level of customer service was exceptional. From the time I chose my first piece to a couple of weeks later as I ended up choosing several pieces, she was always quick to respond in our communication. She was courteous, thoughtful, helpful and thorough. I never felt pressured by Jennifer which is a very good thing as I tend to leave shopping experiences when I feel hassled, hounded or coerced. She assisted me in a gentle, pleasant, skillful and accommodating manner.
The superior quality of The Tin Roof furniture is truly amazing!! This was a major purchase for me and definitely worth the experience. Between the beautifully crafted furnishings, Jennifer's assistance from start to finish and the sale prices I was able to obtain, I will definitely choose to shop for all furniture I purchase in the future at The Tin Roof.
I must also say that the delivery team was superb. They were PROMPT, professional, extremely pleasant, helpful and enthusiastic. They took great care when moving the furniture in and were patient as we tried to figure where to place things.
Thank you, Tin Roof, for a fabulous experience at your store with the phenomenal purchases I made!! I will undoubtedly return (seeking out Jennifer to assist me) and have already been sharing your name with friends, colleagues and...
Read moreWhat a neat experience! After scouring Spokane furniture stores all day with absolutely no luck (everything looking the same,) we decided to try just one more location "just in case." We were greeted by vibrant and personable Melissa. Our connection was immediate. As she took us on a tour of the store, quickly tuning in to our tastes, Melissa helped us notice that the selection was much more esoteric and diverse than what one normally experiences. We were amazed and a bit in awe. Within a short while, we found the piece that truly "spoke to the heart" (as well as others we'll have to save for later.) Throughout the process, brightened and punctuated by lively conversation, Melissa answered all our many questions and even called the manufacturer to double check. Meanwhile, other available staff came by to help with more decor options and add to the wonderful atmosphere of team cooperation. Then, when they heard that we were having a birthday party a few days off, they arranged (somehow) to have it delivered all the way to Colville the morning of. Omar and Mo were also so cheerful, polite and efficient that the delivery went perfectly and a fun experience also. To add a special touch, Melissa even called later that day to be sure the delivery went OK. WHAT A NEAT EXPERIENCE! THANK...
