We booked a 3 night 2 day pontoon boat rental a few weeks (maybe 3) ahead of our arrival. We paid a little extra to pick it up the night before, which was a real time saver and a treat of the trip to your dock in the setting sun. The next morning the family boarded and headed out for some cruising and fishing. The boat only could go 7nmph and it slowly set in that something was wrong. We phoned Walter (the excellent boat guy, literally the best) and told him what was going on and he told us to return to their dock and he will take care of us. We made the trip back and Walter said the prop was too small for the boat and they'll fix it. In the mean time, they swapped us out and off we went. I have failed to mention that they originally upgraded our boat rental to a better boat, not that there was anything wrong or off with original, but a great gesture to say the least. Anyhow, we did have to return the swapped out boat that evening for our original upgraded vessel. They needed it for some customers the next day which was no problem. Gave us a reason to have a nice sunset idle speed boat ride. The coastal area is mildly shallow, like 6ft to 2ft also depending on tide. You have to boat out a bit to find some deeper water. We seen many dolphins in the water, caught many, many fish, swam and had an amazing time thanks to having access to a boat. Great boat conditions, great customer services, amazingly friendly people. The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and possibly the sweetest on the planet. We will be trying the hotel the boats are rented out of, as well as renting another fantastic vessel from these people. Thank y'all for accommodating our issues and not trying to railroad us with charges that shouldn't be ours. Also can get local hand crafted coasters from the hotel desk, very nice colors and designs. If we were more coaster people, we would definitely have a set of the beach color. Once again, THANK YOU ALL FOR A GREAT...
Read moreRESERVE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! We reserved for 2 pontoon boat rentals for a fun family day outing and scalloping and paid the deposit one month before our trip. On the morning of the boat pick up, they called us at 9a (on the day of the reservation) if we still need 2 boats and that one of their boat was broken; we said we can squeeze into 1 boat and that is fine. They inform us they âwill work something out,â we arrived at 915a (15mins later) only to be informed that they donât have anymore boats and thereâs nothing they can do. Not sure how you can run a business by telling your reserved paying customer, âif I have time later, I can call you if I have a boat.â Unbelievable. They âofferedâ a refund yet donât even ask what our address is until we ask how are you refunding us, after standing there waiting for another 20mins. If you cannot accommodate a deposit thatâs been paid, should have a better answer than âsorry.â Since it was last notice cancellation, we couldnât secure another boat rental. Our weekend scalloping plans was ruin since no one else has anything available. BEWARE!! if youâre counting on getting a boat, good luck!! Doubtful weâll see this...
Read moreRented a pontoon from them Labor Day weekend. We were on the water and had issues. We called Walter and told him what was going on. The boat would not go over 12 mph. It was a pretty dangerous situation because other boaters were irritated with us and large boats were passing us causing a lot of wake. The radio and gps cute off several times. We turned the boat back in and mentioned the issues with Walter. He said he thought the boat was having issues last week. My husband spoke to the lady at the front desk and she was rude about the situation. We are avid boaters. We own a boat in our home state and use it weekly. We never ask for a dime back. We just wanted to let them know about the issues and they were rude! Do not rent from them. Go somewhere else. Itâs actually dangerous to get on the water in a boat that wonât run and shuts...
