While the school can provide a foundation for a future career, you can certainly get a better education elsewhere. The staff here was always changing or if they were working they long term they conveyed their disgruntled feelings about the school to the students. There were terms that our teachers were so far removed from the actual teaching that my classmates had to ask if we would be given any projects to receive a grade as there was very little instruction. The dress code is a joke as people don't even wear shirts and ties professionally anymore and a lot of companies are a lot more relaxed about tardiness than YTI was during my time there. The biggest gripe for me is that the credits are not transferable since this is a technical college and if you want to get a bachelor's degree you have to start over (or test out of courses at another school) so it doesn't provide a good base for furthering yourself. If you want to get an education and stay there, this might be the school for you. It is expensive for what it is and there are better...
Read moreThis place is terrible. It was a complete waste of $10k for something I had no chance to complete. I started online and I broke my phone 2 days prior to starting school and I reached out to them letting them know I had no access anymore to the email I gave them, but I had a new one and they could set up my schooling with that. Well I called them 10+ times, talked to so many people over the phone and nobody could help me. Each time I still had no access to my portal, so I was missing assignments that I had no chance to even get into. I even talked to the director of the school and they couldn’t help. Not to mention I went in person 3 times trying to get someone to help me and the front door was locked each time. There was a paper with a phone number to call someone to open it, each time I went and called and no one would answer.. It’s just extremely frustrating to have to spend around $10k for 2 semesters that I had no chance to complete. Don’t waste your time, money, or energy...
Read moreGo to school of hard knocks, don't waste your money going here for trade. 2 days a week, you learn do 1 thing per class, never revisit it. You never can remember what you did because its a one/off and onto the next 'lesson'. You won't be able to transfer any "knowledge" to the field. The online work is on your own, there's little to no reference of how to do things, you are SUPPOSE to learn in the course, which you paid for. Your ebooks dissapear once you move onto next term, books you paid for. They said you can buy em if you want, um no I paid for that with materials in my payment. If your work is paying for it, cool. But dont waste your money. You ask about how to do assignments to teacher and they said "watch the video" when they should teach you in class how to do it, so it's understood by everyone. Most students fall behind easy online and on projects and theres. Im now 2 years into apprenticing after dropping out and it was...
