NOT WORTH YOUR TIME - If you like to eat healthy... this location does not have alot of the healthier options that other Aldi locations have. Just save yourself the time and go to Kroger, or better yet, Sprouts down the road in Madison. Zero healthy ingredient pasta, little to no organic produce offerings (I always have to go to Sprouts for this which is sad because my old Aldi location had sooo much organic produce and other offerings that I literally never had to go anywhere else.)
I'd love to see some Rao's Alfredo sauce at this location... some healthier ranch dressing options, healthier pasta options, the lack of organic produce is huge to me - it's super frustrating to me that our location can't get any of that. Organic Decaf coffee? Nope. They don't have that. A specific stand alone section for organic produce? Nope - it's stuck in the corner on a side that doesn't get much attention so nobody even knows it's there. I'd love to see some organic pumpkin seed offerings - your other locations have them (and Trader Joe's does too)...
This place is just frustrating and yes, if you offered more of these types of products, people would come, people would buy them - especially if they knew you were going to start offering them but telling us that the clientele doesn't buy that kind of product... that doesn't hold any weight for me - tell that to Sprouts who sees people from this zip code all the time. They know. There's a reason they put that location where they did. They knew it would serve Springfield, and everyone else in between. And it does. Get your crap together Aldi - we know you have much bigger and better locations than what you're offering us here in Springfield.
This store needs less parking lot and more product space. It’s super small compared to several others I’ve lived beside in the past and they don’t have half the product other locations have. No banana bread mix, ALWAYS out of 85/15 ground beef (corporate ordering and warehouse fault - not the store’s), they don’t have cheese cubes (for kiddos lunches and charcuterie boards), no nutty buttys, NO PLASTIC BAGS (except the freezer ones, which makes no sense)... This store could be so much more and gain so many more customers if we could do all of our shopping here, but when I still have to go to Kroger to pick up the rest of what I need, I don’t really save all that much. (I don’t do Walmart purely for my lack of patience). I used to do o save so much going to my old Aldis (Orlando and Knoxville), but when I have to make multiple stops to get everything, I’m not sure it’s worth my...
Read moreWhoever the buyer is for this store at corporate, needs to be replaced or the very least, retrained (preferably by whomever the buyer is for the Schererville, Indiana store). The location has nothing to do with why this store does not get the amount of traffic that others nearby do. It has everything to do with the fact they they never have anything people need, the options are small (the bread aisle is almost non existent) The produce section leaves me driving to Kroger for a second stop - every time (not even the super close Walmart nearby which tells you it has nothing to do with location) This store is always out of everything. They never have cinnamon bread, no apple pies, no nutty bars, the wine section is the smallest I've ever seen anywhere, there's never enough staff (they're super helpful but leaving only two in the store at all times is not smart. Yes, it works on paper when you're looking at numbers, but what's your turn over rate on employees with a policy like that, how are you going to explain a major incident in court if the place gets robbed because they realize only two females are on duty at the end of the night... does safety really come first for you or not?) No plastic bags. Terrible idea folks. Terrible idea - especially for those of us who have stairs to climb where boxes would not work for carrying in groceries. I can't tell you how many times I have left here and gone to Kroger to get what I needed. Soooooo frustrating. I love Aldi and when we moved into the neighborhood right across the street (tremont trail), I was so excited to have an Aldi right around the corner, but with the fact that they're always out of everything, I find myself just going to Kroger more often than not. (Not even next door to Walmart...) Its not the location, it's the size, the buyer who can't keep the place stocked with what people need, and seemingly no product. Can we get one like the Schererville, Indiana location around here? That'd sure be nice. I think you'd find more people willing to shop there more often too if it were bigger, had more to offer, and had things in stock. Side note: the parking lot needs to be lit up alot better too. That's partly why I I don't go as often, because if its already dark when I get off work, I'm not chancing that dark parking lot. Again, I'll...
Read moreHere’s what I love: the prices and the smaller store. Much cheaper and quicker than shopping at the insanity that is Walmart down the street.
Needs improvement: Two things. First, they do not have motorized shopping carts (which I’m not sure but may go against the ADA?) Second, their delivery shoppers know where nothing is in the store. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been told something is “not in stock” when it definitely is and they just don’t know where, nor do they take the time to look.
As a result, I, who am currently disabled following knee surgery, will spend an arm and a leg on delivery (as I just did), only to have to go back later myself to a store with no motorized carts to buy something that should have been delivered as ordered but was not, and figure out how to get it to and from my car which is no small feat.
Aldi, I have always been a fan, but you can do better.
All that said… still better...
