The great part is that the food is delicious, and I mean in a way that you just visited your Korean mom's friends house and she fed you like you were one of her own. The food is fresh, the owners/cook take pride in their food and break the stigma of "good food, eh service" when it comes to a Korean restaurant but don't take my word for it. The bad part? I totally forgot to take a photo of the before feast, albeit I managed our app, panjeon seafood pancake. I would certainly come back here to enjoy a home cooked meal and a smiling chef happy to be of service. We got cookies as part of the meal!

I had yukejeong and asked for extra spice. I was not disappointed. The broth, I'm told is veggie based and hearty. My husband got kimchi jjigae and he marveled at the taste, savoring each bite. The lady (and at this point I'm embarrassed I didn't get her name) explained how sour, fermented kimchi is best for soup, vs the fresh kimchi she serves as banchan. Speaking of banchan, while not numerous as one can expect at a traditional Korean restaurant, they are fresh and each day awaits a different variation. The owners taking pride in not wasting food but not hesitant to provide more if you should...

One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! Service was MORE than excellent- it was truly superb. Food was ALL amazing. Our first time trying Korean cuisine and it was a great introduction! We had a beef soup dish that had glass noodles in it, and a spicy chicken kimchi dish, and we started the meal with great pan fried pork dumplings. Probably the best dumplings I've ever had. Everything was homemade, and served with wonderful accompaniments that were explained to us as changing daily. All added great flavors and textures to our already amazing dishes! The service was truly excellent. We truly felt like family. Everything was explained to us kindly, and we were checked upon multiple times and offered extra rice and accompaniments for free. The iced tea was great, hot sauces were great, and we were even given fresh baked cookies for dessert for no charge. It is no wonder why they have ONLY 5 Star Reviews! Please stop in at this amazing restaurant for...

I don't live in Springfield, but worked in a clinic in the area, and decided to visit Galbiya for lunch after reading the amazing reviews. I also love Korean food so I was very excited to try it. Let me tell you, it lives up to the hype! I ordered the beef bibimbap and it was the BEST I've tasted. I've had bibimbap before at several other restaurants in different states and this one tasted different because of the fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned meat, and the rice. The rice was cooked to perfection! A lot of times with bibimbap the rice gets scorched and becomes hard to chew. Additionally all of the sides (there were 4) were delicious! The owner, Rachel, chatted with me while I was there and she seems so sweet. She was very accommodating and taught me about how Koreans eat the side dishes with the main dish to experience different flavors with each bite. It was a wonderful experience...

A post from someone else describing this restaurant as "a hidden gem" got me to try this restaurant. It truly is a hidden gem for delicious Korean food and friendly service. The mixed seafood pancake was fantastic and cooked perfectly (crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The beef bulgogi and the spicy chicken bibimbap were also delicious. I will definitely be a returning customer and recommending this restaurant to others. And now adding to my original review: I went back later in the week for dinner so that my wife could try it. Delicious again! The spare ribs may be the best I have ever had--which explains why they are listed as number 1 on the menu. The kimchee boekkum was the perfect blend of spice and slight sourness. And the owners--so friendly.

My husband stumbled across this place looking for something different for us for date night. We saw the 5 star reviews and drove up from East Nashville with high hopes — and we were NOT disappointed. From the minute you walk in you feel like you are with family, the care not just for the food, but for the people by the owners and their family was so special to see. We got the potstickers, Korean pancake, Bulgogi, and Bibimbop and it was all FANTASTIC. Were even surprised with fresh chocolate chip m&m cookies straight out of the oven as a little extra for a complimentary dessert. Could not recommend this place enough, and we can’t wait to come back!
