The store is fine. Always fun to walk through and look at all the fish and taxidermy.
However, today we came and were walking through the store after going through the aquarium. My 7 month old started getting hungry, so I decided I would make a quick restroom stop and then we would either find somewhere to nurse or head out. In the restroom I used (the ones on the second floor right by the huge stag statue, outside the aquarium/museum entrance), there is a plaque that says ānursing room available ask an associate for details.ā Perfect. I went down to the front counter and asked the cashier (appropriately) named Karen (an older lady with tinsel in her hair) about the nursing room. Not only did she tell me no such nursing room existed, she told me that I could go nurse in the bathroom (ew). I questioned her on this, and told her that I just saw a sign that said there was one available. She called who I assume is her manager or supervisor and then confirmed to me that there is no nursing room, but this time told me there were fitting rooms that have the stuff to set clothes on, and I could go nurse my baby there.
We went to the museum entrance and asked the person selling tickets (who was quite lovely), and they directed us to the aquarium lobby. We spoke to the lady manning the photo gallery entrance (who was also quite lovely), who told us exactly where the very existent...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't know what the hype is all about at this place. It was a major disappointment to our family. We were there to buy a snagging rod and reel. We asked several employees where we could find a snagging rod. "Over there " is all we were told. We looked at the 70 plus rods for awile and chose what we thought was the right one. Then we asked a different employee where we could find the reels. Again we were just told "Over there.". As we were looking at the dozens of reels for 10 minutes a really nice employee asked if he could help us. We told him our story and he said he wouldn't recommend the reel we had chosen. This employee named Todd helped us choose the correct reel, made sure it was the right rod also. He bent over backwards for us. The other 2 employees did not. Their only fishing line spooler was broken too so we had to wind all the line by hand. Why wouldn't a place as big as Bass Pro have a spare fishing line spooler?????Plus we wanted to check out their aquarium but got a shock when they said it's $48.00 per person to get in! Ahhhhh no thank you..We have been to MANY different Bass Pro Shops all over the US. This was the worst one ever! Maybe train your employees better to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI always enjoy a nuce trip to Bass pro when I get the chance to. I do not live near one so I take every opportunity to visit one. This one by far is the largest I have ever been in. The store itself is set up well and creates a fluid a pleasurable shopping experience. Why I gave it 3 stars? Well when you first walk into the store you are bombarded by the gentlemen standing just inside the door trying to get you to join their club. I understand it is part of their job and maybe their delivery needs to be different. With a person that suffers from public anxiety its not a good selling point. Once they invaded my space I allowed them to do their pitch. Trying to be considerate and let them do their job. Once I said no im good it prompted them to instead of saying understand have a nice day they tried selling harder. I had to finally be rude and walk away. The men's section is set up nicely except for their resource protection staring me down and following me around the store. Again I understand that they have a job to do but I gave no indication to prompt them to follow me. I decided to cut my shopping experience short and left. Overall love the store and wished I would have had a...
