I love Costco! Their return policy is amazing, they usually offer an extended manufacturer warranty on electronics they sell, and they always have great prices. It's really one of my favorite places to go to.
The food options are great too. I don't like their "hot dogs" because they are basically sausages and juicy, but it's a great price. I enjoy the ice cream, I have an intolerance to most ice creams and I don't seem to get sick from Costco's ice cream. It's actually nice to get cream every once and a while without getting really sick to my stomach and be in pain. I also really like their pizza. It's so cheap for the size you get and since I never get more than cheese because of so many intolerances, it's perfect for me. $10 for a meal I can have multiple days is nice. Their rotisserie chicken being $5 and not super dry, is great too. Another super cheap meal that can provide you with food for a few days.
The variety of products are great too. I know Sam's club offers basically the same of everything under a different brand, but I still like Costco more. The clothes are good quality and cheap with some more good brands like Adidas, Lucky brand, buffalo, puma, Calvin Klein, and more. They really have some great deals on their products and are usually cheaper than other places. Some of the more expensive products are significantly cheaper than other places and they are always run into sales.
I've bought many products from them and always compare prices before making a purchase. I can honestly say that I have saved hundreds of dollars on products when buying from Costco. In fact, I recently bought two 3 pack Arlo Security cameras that were $200 off and the normal price was $50 cheaper than Bestbuys price of a similar model with less features.
I also love getting gas there. I only go to Costco to get gas. It's always convenient for me and they are 20-40 cents cheaper per gallon compared to other places. The lines are as long as Sam's either so it nice.
The only thing I don't really like is purchasing online. Their online prices are always higher than in store. That makes it harder to shop or see if the store is cheaper when I live 45 minutes away. They might show local prices on the app but I haven't used the app to find out yet. If not, I hope they find a way to see local store prices.
Not everything is better and they don't have everything but overall, the place is great. I will continue to renew my membership and be happy...
Read moreMy first and last visit occurred on 8/21. Prior to that day, I had researched the two levels of membership and had all but decided that the Gold Star would be the most beneficial for me. Once I arrived in club, I was directed to the customer service area to start the membership. I was greeted by an employee who stated that he had a “deal that starts today” on the executive membership. I began listening to his sales pitch and it was basically all of the information I had already personally poured over. He kept alluding to the deal that started that day and I was under the impression that the Executive level would be offered to me at a discount from its price of $130. Twenty five minutes later, he wraps up his spiel only to inform me that there wasn’t an actual deal on the Executive level membership. It would still be $130. The deal he was offering was how the Executive level would pay for itself with its 2% back (you have to spend at least $6500 annually to gain this benefit). I ended up right back to settling on the Gold Star level, with a painful realization that I just wasted 25 minutes of my life with this wannabe car salesman. This should have been enough for me to realize I should have exited-stage left. My shopping experience was much like being in Sam’s Club. Mostly the same products or equals thereof. My checkout experience was the final straw. I get to a self checkout register and fairly easily get the twelve or so items scanned and then retrieve the credit card which pays for practically everything I purchase. The pinpad reports an error. I try it again. Same error. I then realize Costco does not accept MasterCard credit cards. I was so turned off at that moment. I scrambled to find a Visa card and did not have one. I ultimately paid for the purchase with my debit card and missed out on a good amount of rewards I would have normally gotten with my credit card. First world problems coming to fruition… Save yourself the trouble. Just stay with Sam’s and don’t believe the grass is greener at this poser. In my 20+ years of doing business at Sam’s, I never had one issue. Not one. That...
