I loved Menards. I purchased an older home and have spent an ungodly amount of money there. Then ……. I found out what management was like. Warning ….buying stain at this location is hazardous to your health. I purchased a can of stain for my fence. I took it home used it. Tested the color and used the gallon. Went back to get two more cans. The gal who did it did not know how to make more. She had not put a label on the can. Al’s she used the wrong nase to create it. She used chestnut rather than a redwood. As they endeavored to match the stain, I went home and got a board off the fence and took it in for the match. Long story short and four trips later, I called management and talked to Cory. I asked what they were going to do to make this right. Nothing. As an amputee (which I told him), I told him it was hard enough to do it once. I wasn’t even offered a gallon of stain for the extra ones I had to buy. I ended up using 5 gallons of stain rather than 3. I couldn’t spray because the replacement was too light. I brushed on 3 coats to make it match the first can. It cost me a minimum of close to $100 more so far and the time involved has quadrupled. I’m still not done. They made the mistake. They caused the problem. Yet, I was treated as though I was the issue. The manager (Cory) had an uncaring, bite me attitude. I don’t know why I expected them to do something. With only 2 motorized wheelchairs in that store (the norm nationwide), they show their obvious attitude of not caring about their customers or handicapped clientele. So, if you are elderly, go to Home Depot. If you are an individual that has to have a motorized wheelchair, forget this store and go to Home Depot. If you are someone who cares about people and find yourself disgusted about this attitude, go to Home Depot. (I stopped going to Lowe’s because there are no checkouts at the exit area. They were short on cashiers. Looks like they all fled because there is no place for their return. Try setting in a wheelchair and check out boards. I was told I could go to the back of the store and they would checkout there. That’s what I want to do… go to the back of the store from the front. Check out. Then roll all the way back to the front of the store to go to the car … being stopped to make sure the items have been paid for by the person in the rear of the store). Idiocy wears me out. It did before I lost my leg. Now, it makes me want to hold my head and scream. I lost a leg …. Yes I did from a doctor surgery infection …. Yet I feel fortunate….. they lost their minds and heart. Obviously I don’t give them a star at all … much less five. I can’t change it but then they don’t have negative stars and they don’t...
Read moreI've had issues with Menards 3 out of the 4 times I've shopped there. First time ever shopping with the company, I ordered a MasterCraft exterior door online through Menards. I received the door and had it installed. My boyfriend and I went on a weekend float trip which it had stormed one night. When we came home the next day, my brand new floors were soaked with water that had came through the window on the door. The process to replace the door alone was annoying and difficult. They only sent a window replacement and didn't cover charges for installation, the water damage, and flooring that had to be replaced. When the replacement was received, it had different sealing material and was still very poorly manufactured. Since this was already a frustrating process, I had the installer seal around the window himself. The second time shopping at Menards I purchased a glass globe light fixture, which had to be returned because the barcode removed the frost. For the door and another trip I had made to Menards, I sent in rebate forms and receipts. I followed directions and sent in what I was given for the rebates. I was never reached out to by the company and so when I followed up I was informed that I didn't have the proper paperwork. Seeing that this has been months ago, the email was automatically deleted and there's no way to retrieve the rebate receipts again. Therefore, I am not getting any money back like they so loudly advertise for this company. I've had others tell me the rebate process is complicated. I see this as a way for the company to avoid giving customers the money back that they owe them. I've sent off for Lowes rebates multiple times and had no issues, the process was so easy, and I actually got my money! I have filed a complaint directly to Menards. We'll see what comes of that. I am making my frustrations known here and will be reviewing the company elsewhere. I will not be shopping there anymore unless this is made right. Seeing how everything else has went with them, I don't see them doing much, if anything. I do not recommend shopping with this...
Read moreMy husband and I went into the store on Chestnut and 65 this afternoon. We had over $200 worth of stuff in the cart and we were ready to check out. Before the cashier would even take us she asked if he had his mask. He said yes but that he had a medical condition and that was why he wasn’t wearing it. She claimed that before she could check us out he would have to put it on. He was like I have to put this on to pay she said yes he said well forget it! We walked out, left the cart full. Sorry for the lady that wanted the cart after us!
We called the store manager Brett Griffin who was very unprofessional when we said we had a verifiable documented proof as to not being able to wear our mask he said to “Shop Online DONT Come In The Store!”
He didn’t care that his staff was hateful as well!
When we asked for the corporate phone number for Menards he refused to give it to us! Fine it’s out there and I’ll find it. He finally gave it to us because my husband told him that he would make sure to tell them that he was refusing the corporate phone number. Well he didn’t give it to us.....he gave us a bogus #. Everything was correct but the last 4! How convenient!
Called corporate and all they want you to do is write a letter! Asked for CEO office and got told they can’t give that info to us!
No longer will we shop at Menards and if I’m shopping online or in store moneys going in the same pocket! Good riddens Menards!
Technically this doesn’t even deserve 1 star but that is the lowest I’m...
