Went in to pick up A game system I had pawned, and was told I had to pay with cash they would not accept a card to pay it off, but I could make a payment on it with my card but could not pick it up for 3 more weeks even if I came back with cash that day to pay it off because I made a payment with my card that day. Oh and don't forget the huge charge to pay with ur card ONLY on a payment! I waited the 3 weeks while they held my system hostage and went back in with cash, picked it up and noticed my original HDMI cord was not in there which was a high dollar cord, and they had replaced it with an old cord. They tried to say that was the one it came in with and I got nowhere. There's some kind of shady business going on in there! I will never go back again! Use Eagle pawn! They will give you 1000% better service and they are honest! And in response to my review, I was called a lier. Imagine that lol! There are others saying the same thing. What's funny is they said no such thing was said or happened but they never got any info on any of it before saying that so how would they even know out of all their customers months later, what account was even being mentioned? I guess we are...
Read moreI first heard about GameWerks when my roommate's Xbox red ringed. He brought it to the shop and they got him all sorted out in a fraction of the time Microsoft quoted.
I've since brought my Xbox here twice, first when the laser when out and it couldn't read disks and the second time for the dreaded red ring of death. Both times service was done before the estimated date and the prices were more than reasonable.
The only issue we had was that they swap out the fan to keep the unit cooled better, to help prevent future red ringing but neither of us were warned about that until we got the machine back. If we're both playing Xbox is sounds like a freaking jet taking off in our living room. BUT, neither unit has red ringed since the fan upgrade so we'll take the little extra noise for the extended life span.
They also ask for a portion of the labor fees up front, which is non-refundable, but I thought that was perfectly reasonable. If they can't fix your unit then what incentive do you have to pay them for their time? I felt that $30 to find out if my Xbox could be saved or not was more than...
