Friend is an adult and needs a job like an adult. Friend participates in a 3 interview process for a fast food position. Keep in mind this person has adult bills and adult needs and responsibilities, yet goes through 2 weeks worth of interviews. They tell this person in the last interview they need open availability but that they can only give this person 15-20 hours per week and that if they want to keep a roof over their head they can call all the other stores and beg them for shifts. If they were lucky - they may be able to gain enough hours to pay their rent, but it would always be a revolving door of fear and begging for those additional hours.
My friend instead takes a real position with a company that doesn't practice predatory hiring and employment practices, and decided hmmm, I'll give them the 20 hours per week they want and keep both jobs. Keep in mind they've already interviewed with multiple people for over 2 weeks about this "position" at this store. They go the 25 minutes out of their way each way - for this store's silly little 3-5 hour shifts once or twice per week only to arrive and be told "No you needed to give us open availability and I cannot work with your availability" without even looking. Basically saying "No I own you if you work for me and you'll will do as I say even if that leaves you in fear for your life every month over your bills. You will bend over backwards for these predatory short shifts and you will be available at a moments notice, to my store or you will not have a position." They literally told this person "NO you said you had open availability and you were going to make these few hours I give you, your priority" I kid you not those words were said exactly
If you're a customer and your coffee SUCKS when you stop at this location (mine always does and I've always wanted a reason to say it but try not to complain) the reason is their barbaric, inhumane, and completely inexperienced management. Don't blame the store level employees. I knew they had terrible management based on all of my experiences there (previous I no longer go and that stopped long before this incident) but at least now I know hands down why I felt like I was wasting my money at that location.
One final curiosity - I've been informed from a different employee that this store possibly participates in a strange version of tipping - in that the manager takes exactly 50% of the tips from all hours even hours this person does not work. I do not know if this is the case or not and my friend who interviewed is not the person who informed.
I want to inform any customers there is a store a block north and a different store a block west of there, inside a grocery store. I personally would be worried about being served Coffee Shuttle Cleaner, at this location. Not sure how ownership works of the stores in this area but this one is highly unrecommended. I've been in management most of my life. The things I was told abhorred me. I would personally be afraid of this manager getting my store into a lawsuit or into a full on investigation with the Dept Of Labor. That's what happens when I hear and see the things taking place here - at other stores. You also notice a steep reduction in their product safety/quality. Stop here at your own risk but me personally I've never had a good experience and I finally...
Read moreMe and my wife have been coming here pretty much every day for a long time and we share a very expensive drink spending almost 15$ a day here, today there was a mishap and miscommunication with the order and I did not get the sweet cream foam no biggie, I call up and the very nice girl on the phone said she would just remake me a sweet cold brew so I drove back up there and was appreciative for that , the problem is where I get there the older lady in the window was argumentative and trying to Tell me that it was MY fault and not there fault she was extremely reluctant to even give me the re-make which she NEVER ended up giving me..... she acted like I was such a burden and a problem I ended up just asking for the sweet cream foam so I could be on my way because it was extremely clear this lady was not happy about having this miscommunication and blamed me...... I Never leave reviews ever... but this was unacceptable I have worked in the food industry for 15 years and you don't tell someone to come back to the store make them use double the gas they should have for a re-make and then proceed to argue back and forth with the customer and not give them what they drove all the way back up there for...I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere and would like my...
Read moreI'm tired of receiving drinks that are 1/2 - 3/4 of the way full. The first picture is deceiving - there's still foam and whipped cream that will melt. I don't want to slurp whipped cream, I want to sip my coffee, but when the milk is missing from the latte, it's hard to do that.
Once is a fluke. Twice is a pattern. Anything more is a common practice, and this location clearly practices making money by saving on product.
The last time I ordered inside instead of through the drive thru, I received a half full cup. I did not take a sip and asked to have the drink topped with more steamed milk. The brat behind the counter snapped that they can't do that. We stared at each other a moment before she complained that she'll have to remake it. Dear child, make it right the first time and you won't have that problem. What awful customer service.
