I went to the Orr building to get my COVID Vaccine because several friends had said how efficient and clean the whole process was, and how they were adhering to strict COVID protocols. That was important to me as I'm one of those "at risk."
However, my experience was quite different. Upon entering, a man in fatigues came up right beside me (not even a 2' difference even though signs said 6' required). He told me to go to station one, but there were no signs facing me that indicated station 1. It happened that the station was near the door, but the #1 sign faced into the room, not toward the door with people entering behind them. There was a table between us, but the 6' rule wasn't being followed here neither, and there were no barriers set up. After checking in, I was given some paperwork to fill out and directed to several tables. No one sterilized them after others left, and no one sterilized or replaced the pen that was available for filling out the forms. I didn't see any sanitizer near there neither, so couldn't wipe things down myself. Several workers throughout the Orr Building had their masks down exposing their noses, and a few had them lowered completely while taking to others.
Then I went to the next area and waited in a short line for the next available person. It was fortunate it was a short wait as people in line weren't maintaining distance neither. The gal at the next station laughed at my distance saying she was fully vaccinated so it was ok to be near her, totally ignoring the facs that 1) no one else she came into contact with at her station was vaccinated, and 2) the "Vaccine" isn't meant to make one immune, just reduces the symptoms if you get COVID. Then I discovered she was the nurse!
After receiving my 1st shot, I was directed to a waiting area for 30 minutes due to the fact that I usuallyhave bad reactionsto vaccines and medication. Chairs were arranged at least 6' apart, however when another person in fatigues soon came to check on me, the 6' was not observed. I was told to get her attention if i needed anything, and she left the area.. i never saw her again, and no one else checked on me again in that 30 minutes. What would have happened if I had a reaction? There were several people milling about, so hopefully someone would have noticed a person in distress. I was glad when my time was finally up and was able to go home to shower and change clothes.
I did notice that people in what appeared to be an area for those with a short waiting period had several workers checking on them. Others arriving after me in the long term waiting area were not checked on while I was there.
Nearly everyone was nice, and I have no complaints about the facility, it's the protocols not being followed, and lack of monitoring that I have issue with since the people coming there for service are not vaccinated. Very...
Read moreGetting to the or building was not fun. The roads were awful. Potholes everywhere. No place to drive where it was smooth.
We were headed here to go to a craft show. And not during the State Fair. Finding the building was an additional challenge, there were no signs up to get to the craft show we were headed to. I didn't see any entrances that were handicapped accessible. But there was ample parking. People were parking in the parking lot, along the road, and everywhere they could find a spot. Once inside, the place was large, air condition, and felt spacious even with all the vendors setting up right next to each other.
Once we found the bathrooms they were quite clean, and plenty of stalls. But you know women, there's always a line. But it moved...
