Went to this facility on 7/20/22 with the family. $5 entry fee is a great price, however, it stinks that people have to pay an entry fee. Why not pass out cards for those who want to skate? You do have cards for inline skates. Should be the same for quad skates. This way, it’ll ensure staff that people has paid to skate. Another thing…just 2 hours to skate? That’s no fun. The facility should be open longer than 2 hours to skate. What’s the fun in that? Seems like a waste of time and money for those who live far away. Another thing…the dining area should ONLY be for those who are actually eating. Why save your spot at the table when seating is already limited for those who want to eat? The facility needs to expand so there are more seating areas for those who don’t want to skate, people who are resting, and for people who are done eating. We had to just sit at a table and let other people know that we were going to sit there. Considering there aren’t enough inline skates for everyone who would like to use them, and since there aren’t many good inline skates, you should be able to refund the $3, no matter how much time has passed. Or…get rid of skates that offer no support over the ankle. I used inline skates that were crappy…absolutely no support over the ankle. I switched to a different size. I told the staff member that I’ll try on a different size. Knowing the bigger size may not fit me, she gave away the inline skates I was using. I spoke with the manager or owner and the lady who was with him. She couldn’t refund me because I’ve worn them and used them too long for a refund. I had to get quad skates. The pizza was ridiculously priced. For $8 pizzas, I would’ve expected a bigger size. You can get that size pizza at the store for half the price. Also, the drinks? They have to charge full price for a new cup…even though it’s a refill. What a joke!! Refill price was acceptable, but offer bigger cups for the price you pay. Medium cups were $1.25, I think. I can get a large cup at a gas station and it’ll be worth the money. This facility may need to rethink on how they charge for their prices. I don’t know. We weren’t too impressed. The good part was the fact that all the kids had fun skating.
By the way, the “cheaters”…the thing for people who can’t skate…$4 is outrageous for 2 hours. Ugh!!! People can go do other things for fun for the same price…for longer than 2 hours.
We may or may not be back. We live about 45 minutes away and for this facility to be open for 2 hours, pay en entry fee for non skaters, and have no tables available for those want to eat….it’s not worth my...
Read moreMy family trip here Saturday night was horrible. They charge the same exact price for a one year old baby as they do any adult or child. That's ridiculous. They have a long list of rules, at least 3 of them are ridiculous abs one of them why even listed. The rules are super outdated and not followed by any means at all. This is supposed to be a family friendly place... What's the point of having the rules posted at the door if NONE at ALL are followed? The people there are rude. I repeatedly kept having people push me and my children, cut us off, wall in front of us and I had done rude lady taking pictures of my daughter. You can not step out if you forget something after paying or need to smoke or have to make a phone call or you have to pay the price again to get in....The area where you can sit at the tables is INCREDIBLY tiny so there is absolutely no way to walk around there or get to your table the your sitting at....I didn't see anywhere to put our belongings. The bathroom is super tiny and the locks on the stalls look like my 9 year old son made, there were no pair towels to dry my hands....This place was pathetic and they are only open 2 hours..... So everyone in the entire city has to come at the save time if they want to skate so it makes it extremely packed in there too where you literally can't even walk around in there...... No one pays attention so they ask keep running into you and getting extremely close to you. Do not leave you children or belongings out of your sight, or they will get picked up and kidnapped. That's how bad it was there. We will most likely NOT be returning to this establishment. As in a 97% chance...
Read moreThe rink itself is just fine. It would get more stars if that's all I was considering.
That being said, the 'open skate' drives the rating down. It is advertised as 7-9 pm. That would be just about the right amount of time for an evening of skating. But 2 hrs in Skateland time is really about an 1 hr 20 min.
What you'll find is that at 7 o'clock you are standing in a line outside waiting for them to open the doors. At 7 they open the doors and start moving people through the line. Into the next line.... the skate pickup line. By the time that happens it is 7:20. Time to skate....
For about 20 min, and then they tell you to stop. It's time to do a birthday celebration for a couple kids you don't know. They have rented one of the rooms for a private birthday. But here I am realizing it's really not that private. Don't get me wrong it was awesome to see those kids super happy but c'mon. They paid for the room, the other 90% of people there paid to skate. Ok, that's done, back to skating.....
Before you know it the time is now 8:30 and they announce that after this song it's 'adult' skate and kids have to leave the rink. A couple songs later it is 8:40 the adults are told to leave the rink and everybody needs to turn in their skates. Because as the DJ excitedly says "IT'S TIME FOR THE SOCK HOP"... What that means is go on the rink barefoot and do the Macarena so we don't have to work late.
So now you can see where the math doesn't add up. For the price it's fine, whatever, it's cheap. But just don't expect to get to skate for a couple hours on a...
