This shop used to be a Purple Burrito location that specialized in San Diego style rolled tacos and Burritos. Sad to say, no more. The food is probably better than some places it's not San Diego style. I specifically asked if the rolled tacos were the same as Purple Burrito? I was told yes, beef. Which should have been shredded beef. Not ground beef. He said the special was 4 rolled beef tacos w/ salad and drink. I told him I was ordering to go to Branson and didn't need drinks. He said it's the same. So I place an order for 3 Carne asada burritos (no rice or beans) 3 orders of rolled tacos and 1 order of 4 chicken emapnadas and 2 orders of hot pickled carrots and jalapeños. Well,,,, I should've checked the order when the gal tried to give me 4 drinks and only 4 2oz hot sauces to go. The rolled tacos are ground beef🤥, no hot carrots (that I paid for). The burritos were okay and as orderd. The the chicken empanadas were tasty. But considering it was just under $90 I can't say I will be back. Just because I'm not Latina doesn't mean I don't know central and soth America food🤗. I will enjoy awesome empanadas in Roatan Honduras in 2 weeks. Thank goodness I will. I wish this shop good luck but it will not be with...
Read moreIt was me and my boyfriend’s first time going there. I saw their $1 taco special on Mondays/Thursdays. We decided to go because I heard good things about it. I was excited and I love mexican food so I was really intrigued. We got there, we weren’t greeted at first which was no issue. We got sat at a table almost directly in the sun and there was already zero AC happening in that building. We sat down and waited almost 25 minutes to even get water. I was nearly breaking a sweat and would’ve loved a water but just got chips and salsa instead. Other tables that were sat way after us were getting drinks, appetizers and their orders taken before we even got asked what we wanted to drink. They kept giving us chips and salsa even though we were ready to order. We had 3 different staff members come up to us and ask if we were ordering. We said yes each time, they walked away and didn’t come back to take our order. The staff acted like we didn’t even exist yet every other table seemed to be enjoying themselves. I’m a patient person and this was honestly beyond me. I’ve never experienced service like this before let alone being flat out ignored by...
Read moreThis is an amazing place for south of the border food…!
I love coming here for lunch. The restaurant is always clean. There is always a daily special and the food is amazing.
Las pupusas (El Salvador) are very tasty. I would like to see more options aside from just cheese and cheese and chicharrones. My personal favorite is the cheese and chicken. 🙂
Las gorditas (Honduras) are also quite tasty. If you get them ask for toppings to go on them (lettuce, tomato, cream, cheese (queso fresco), and avocado. You will pay more for the toppings but it adds so much to the food itself. My mouth is watering as I write this…! 😁
Los tacos and los tamales are about as authentic as you could possibly find outside of Mexico. Los tamales are wrapped in corn husks. I’m not sure if they offer Central American style tamales wrapped in banana leaves.
The prices are just a little bit more than what I would like to pay, but the food and service is worth it…!
This is a definite place to try and make as a regular stop on your...
