Fast, clean, convenient. A little dimly lit it seemed today, but that could be because it was so sunny today. Staff was nice, friendly.
Nov 2022 update. This store is also clean and modern. 3 electric wheelchairs for those who are unable to shop while standing. Female staff member was unfriendly, gossipy about other customers or coworkers I think. Male members partaking in goss sesh too; the only remotely helpful person was the security guard who grabbed some better bags for me. But as I was unable to stand to shop today, another customer had to help me load my bags, cart and my truck. He also adamantly refused to take money, thank you, Sir. 0verall, not a great look for Save a Lot, in my opinion. Also, they had almost no Unilever products, such as Dove, so I was incredibly unimpressed by this store's staff today, but not so much as to be angry. Just mildly annoyed. Read moreFamily Owned and Operated! That’s the #1 reason I go the extra miles to this location vs. a closer store. If you need help finding something, there’s always an employee on the floor. If something is on sale and somehow rings up at the wrong price…NO arguments. They’ll correct it without a hassle – unlike the company owned store on S. Jefferson by Lafayette Ave.
Do they carry the same exact brands as the company owned stores? Sometimes yes and sometimes no. The brands they carry are usually better vs. company owned stores. A prime example of this is the bread department. They carry more variety and better quality bread products vs. company owned stores. Regular customers get a friendly “Good Morning” and a smile. They may not know my name, but they know my face. At the company owned store, you’re just a nobody. Save-A-Lot, you need to start training employees at this location and learn how...
Read moreI've been going here for years. It's one of the only independent stores left in South City. The best affordable grocery store for meats, especially and of course, other food. You can get Pick 5 packages of meat for $25.00, choices are Hamburger, Chicken, Pork steaks, Pork Chops, Country Style Ribs, and so much more. Nit sure if it's local farmers, but for the price, you just can't best the Pick 5. Staff is always warm and welcoming. The store is clean. Today, they were stocking up big time. The owner has made this store what it is by keeping it all affordable for everyone. Kudos for keeping your store independent! Produce, Milk, Eggs, Bread, Frozen Section, Canned Goods, Household items, Condiments, Desserts, Spices, Soda, Lunch Meat, Breakfast Meats, Ice Cream, Chips everything you can get at most...
