Passing through St Michael’s I needed to have my nails done (hard gel nail). I called this salon and explained that I was looking for a refill with hard nail gel sometimes called builder gel. The lady was very nice but not very convincing if they did anything beyond dip and acrylic nails. Still I scheduled an appointment and arrived 5-10 min early. I explained to the gentleman I was looking for hard gel nail sometimes called extensions or builder gel as he didn’t seem to understand what I was asking. He asked if acrylic and said no hard nail gel or builder gel. He didn’t confirm if they did so just to sit so he can clean my nails and take a look. I explained I would like a manicure first mainly for the cuticles. His answer was ‘if I have time’ in a non nice way. At the end I asked if they did Chrome having heard the lady mention the word. Based on his reaction, I said forget what I just said. In summary, I thought he was a grumpy and unpleasant man throughout the time I sat there. He did a good job cleaning and preparing the nails. However the outcome is ‘fatty’ nails no longer fitting the almond/pointy shape I initially walked in. He also never asked me what shape I was looking for.
