Her Happy Place — Local services in St. Peter

I am extremely disappointed in both of my experiences here. I stopped in 1 week ago with my boyfriend and HE was immediately put off by the gossip that was happening between 2 employees behind the front desk. For a man to notice that is concerning and once he brought it to my attention, I overheard some rather inappropriate talk as well. Mind you, this was our first time there. I did put that aside and found a few beautiful items. One item did not workout for me for the event that I had and knew it when I brought it home and saw the pant I had picked out to go with it. I did NOT even take the top out of the bag. Once I brought it into the store to exchange, the woman was extremely rude and said "it smells like hairspray" immediately. Mind you, it never came out of the bag and I don't even use hairspray. I assured her it had not even been taken out of the bag and she questioned that after I had explained to her it just wasn't going to work for me. The condition was not compromised in the least. It was as if I was being called a liar straight to my face. After these 2 horrendous experiences, I will not be returning which is a shame since I shop a lot and love to support local, small businesses. Hopefully I can find someone who can use the store credit I received back and that they won't experience the nonsense I did. Say what you want to say about the 2 items I returned if that makes you feel better, but I know what the truth is. So sad you operate this way. Accusing someone of wearing a SEE THROUGH shirt with the tags still attached and then returning it....for shame. Shame on you. How would someone get by with that? Yesterday two friends and I did a St. Peter day- lunch at Diamond Dust Cafe, yum, Food Coop for fruit and vegetables and on our way out of town we stopped at Her Happy Place. We were so glad we did as this store is Awesome! The clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. were current and well priced. The owner, Lisa, waited on us and she helped us find the perfect items to buy.
