I love good ice cream.
SOTA SCOOPS is a nice addition to a town that has a fair number of empty storefronts.
The ice cream they serve is made by Bridgemans which is a middle of the road brand. Not bad but certainly nothing exceptional.
Price & Value: EXPENSIVE. The City Hall Creamery in Jordan serves a comparable cone for $2 less per cone and almost double the portion.
SELECTION: 12 flavors. That's an ok selection but again City Hall Creamery in Jordan has 28 flavors which run from standard flavors like vanilla and chocolate to more unique flavors like key lime pie and lemon shortbread.
OVERALL: I will probably save my pocket money for ice cream shops that serve lower priced cones with better portions, higher quality ice cream and broader selection. Even though this is a local ice cream venue it's a solid MEH when it comes to ice cream shops.
Yes, there is a lot of love from the local community as evidenced by the reviews but let's face it, our local residents are not actually sophisticated connoiseurs of anything. These are people who think a Hersheys bar is fine gourmet chocolate and McDonalds is fine dining.
This place is just not worth it for...

And truth be told, my two-scoop waffle cone here edged a bit higher than I'd prefer. But you know what? I'm still giving this place a full 5 stars, because sometimes, you just have to let the little things slide for something genuinely great. This new ice cream shop is a total breath of fresh air. It's bright, it's inviting, and honestly, you can feel the good vibes the moment you walk in. The staff? Absolutely fantastic. They're quick, friendly, and clearly love what they do – which makes the whole experience even sweeter. And the ice cream itself? Oh my. It's genuinely delicious. So, despite my wallet shedding a tiny tear, I'm happy to report that the quality and service here make it entirely worth it. So, if you're looking for a delightful treat and want to support a local business that's clearly pouring its heart into what they do, come on out. Your taste buds...
Read moreI’m very happy that Sota Scoops starting selling vegan ice cream lately too, I didn’t see it listed anywhere but I heard they did so I asked when I was there. They said they had a vegan chocolate, vanilla, and one other one, I’ve tried the chocolate one twice now and it was pretty good for vegan ice cream, definitely not the best vegan ice cream I’ve ever had but very good and it’s nice to just have an option if you can’t do dairy or some other ingredients. I would definitely recommend listing it on the menu somewhere so people know it’s an option! I would likely come back...
