I was fortunate enough to try Paddlefish Thursday 4 January, a soft open for email subscribers! What a great space!!! A large parking lot....that you can exit from three directions, I appreciated as I want to head north on 169, back to the cities! The staff were so friendly!! A gal was going to help me build my flight when a fella slid down the bar to also help me! I really appreciate that 99% of the tables are standard height!! There's a little entertainment nook in the NE corner! The SE corner, you can't miss it, is where they will drive in from time to time their green '76 VW bus!! A fella @ a nearby table mentioned to me "you'd think they'd get that van out of here for more seating!" I replied: I'm sure they will....eventually, but for the opening, it's aesthetic. There were two tap lists hanging, a left and a right. I didn't peruse the left once the beertender said their beers were on the right. There were six listed; I wanted to try them all!! I'm not an APA fan so a taster pour of the Almost Capital was perfect for me. The beer was hoppy but not piny/bitter, so I was able to finish it. None of the beers really walked away a favorite but were all delicious! I assume he was an owner, but a flannel Paddlefish shirted fella was making the rounds picking up empty glasses. Thanks! The tap room is spacious and with the few garage doors, it's bright. The brew house is visible by the west end of the bar. Merch is readily available on a display on the south wall, between garage doors. There are three bathrooms behind he wall on the back of the tap wall. I am excited that Paddlefish is opening today and looking forward to my return visits!! Congrats Paddlefish and happy...
Read moreThe beer maybe some of the worst I've gotten from a small brewery.
There were 4 of us together and between us, we ordered some ales and porters. We all of us agreed, none of it tasted good.
There was nearly no where to sit. We ended up in some low to the ground lounge chairs that were extremely uncomfortable and spread so far apart we felt as if we were were no longer a group.
The place smelled horrible. Right next to us was some van where you could sit inside. The people inside the van were making Marijuana and made things smell gross.
There was a band playing. The volume was so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Between the odd distance from each other due to the terrible seats and band's volume and the buildings terrible acoustics,we simply couldn't enjoy a conversation.
In the end we ended up leaving after 10 minutes or so with nearly full beers left behind and our money lost.
I could forgive everything as situational except the beer. It's as if they had no idea how to brew beer.
Needless so say, we won't be...
Read moreMy family and I stopped in at Paddlefish Brewing for the first time last Saturday afternoon and had a great time trying out their beer selection and playing card games.
I really enjoyed a few of their beers (Oh Fer Cute IPA and Red Amber) and the taproom is very nice, spacious and has a super cool VW bus inside for photo ops.
The best part was we were staying at Riverside Campground and it was just a short 1 block walk to get to the brewery. I definitely recommend stopping at Paddlefish if you're a beer or seltzer lover and want to try a new place. There are even a few places to grab food that are just...
