Please be careful before working with Toyota of Stamford. There were several red flags from the beginning- including putting a $500 deposit in a car they were sourcing, only to find out the salesman was gone by going into the dealership after several weeks of no contact. I should have been informed that he’d left, but I also should have listened to my gut, but I didn’t. The purchasing experience was not awful but the financing and the trade in of a previous lease were abhorrent. After signing the papers- which felt like a massive resignation, just to get it done signing boxes that he was “supposed to read to me” - I realize they didn’t pay me for the equity of my trade in, nor the lease payment that cleared two days before purchasing the new vehicle. They paid me the agreed upon $4000 equity but the final lease payment is still outstanding after 6 weeks of back and forth. First they told me to call Toyota financial services, who kicked it back to the dealer. Then I spoke with another finance manager who said I was correct- that I should not have paid the financial lease payment, but that I had to speak with Alfonso, the original finance manager. I spoke with Alphonso again and he sent me papers that had zero relevance to the final payment but to the lease buyout. I asked how the final payment influenced the finances of my current purchase - ie what happened to the final lease payment- and he said that it didn’t. “The payoff amount did not have any impact on your current deal. You still have the $4000.00 equity applied to it. If you would had not paid the $384.00 on the 23 rd., the sales manager would have given you less than the $4000.00 he gave you.” The $4000 was agreed upon before the lease payment was made, so I do not understand how this would be the case. To this day, no one will tell me what would have happened if I hadn’t made the final payment. Regardless, the principle of the matter is how they treated me, always telling me to contact someone else- who is inevitably not available that day- or that I’m not understanding. That’s the most disappointing part of this ordeal- how I was made to feel throughout. This is my 5th Prius. I’m sure I will buying another, but it won’t be at Toyota...
Read moreI feel sorry writing this review, I brought my Toyota Tundra for maintenance, regular oil change and tire rotation that’s all, The advisor “Santiago” recommended me to change all filters, engine filter and cabin filter and was pushy trying to tell me what to do to my Truck, I asked to pay up front for the services He asked me to pay later on. After I agreed to changing both filters engine filter and cabin filter Santiago demanded me to change my brake fluid and my transmission & differential fluid and to service my Throttle body. I decided to do the brake fluid even tho I usually change the brake fluid along with the brake pads at the same time. He came back and wanted me to spend another $1200 on brakes and when I asked him why he plainly said my “brake pads are worn out”. So that’s when I knew something fishy going on. I didn’t even notice what he was trying to do, trying to up sale me services my truck do not need.!!!!! He called me saying my truck is ready The oil change and the filters plus the tire rotation and brake fluid came up to +$700? And when I drive off the truck feels shaky and out of balance and when I called to inform them they said come back Friday and we’ll help you?????? Overall me writing this review is because I believe I got overcharged for the services I asked for, Trying to oversell me services my truck doesn’t need And not to mention he was really rude and had an attitude when spoke to me. I am a Toyota customer for over 3 years and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had especially when I’m a regular at the Stamford of Toyota. Shame on you for hiring such rude employees who wouldn’t try to help the customer but to scare them away. You will never ever see more of me at this dumpster location ever again! Thank you Toyota . I came for an oil change and walked out with a $740 bill that I...
Read moreEdit, October 2025: It's been a month, and I haven't heard from either the service manager or the general manager. I sent them both respectful, constructive emails. Changing the rating from 2 to 1 stars
Earlier edit: your reply says "Reach out via a text or call". I already emailed the service manager and the general manager, and got no reply. Besides, who do I need to text or call? A name and a number would be helpful... Do you really want to address an issue, or are you just trying to appear helpful?
Original review; 2 stars: Service department... The advisors are AMAZING - Rich, Mo, Spencer, Jim - incredibly hard working and friendly people. The actual work done by the mechanics is a different story. I came in for a coolant flush, and when I got my car back and drove home, the coolant was over a quart low. They did not purge the air from the system. I had to buy my own coolant to top it off because I could not lose another day bringing the car back. Another case - brought the car in for the steering angle sensor. $800 later, I drove home to hear some rattling noise when turning the steering wheel. Something was left loose after the repair. I had to come back to have that addressed. I wrote to the service manager and to the dealership general manager, but heard nothing back. Know this: the dealers charge more than independent shops, but pay their mechanics way less. Unless you are there for a warranty "free" repair or a recall, do yourself a favor and go to a reputable "moms and pops" repair shop. You will pay less and you will have your work done better by happier and better...
