Stunningly unprofessional behavior by this business owner: We have visited this mall several times over the years and have developed a pleasant relationship with its employees. However, yesterday, after arranging to purchase an antique cast iron stove over the phone, after we drove 2 1/2 hours to pick it up, we were advised by the owner that he had not bothered to 'take the tag' as he had promised, and that the stove been sold before we arrived. Stunned, we asked why he did not phone us to report the mistake before we wasted five hours. No apologies from him. He laughed while munching a bag of potato chips telling us that it didn't matter what we said, that the stove was gone. We left without another word and we will not shop here again. After reading the 'reply. from the owner, there are incorrect statements. 'Husband' would be me, left my phone number with owner and offered to pay for the stove in full and I was assured this was not necessary nor even desirable to owner as it would be fine to pay when we came to get it . The only words 'Husband' (me) said to owner after inexplicably learning the the item was gone was to ask why he did not phone us telling about his mistake and avoiding five hours of lost time driving. While he chuckled and ate his potato chips he did indeed say 'it did not matter what we said' so we said nothing at all to him. We did expect apologies and would have walked away disappointed. A nice selection of antiques & memorabilia. However, I only gave 2 stars because we waited over 15 minutes to check out while owner was loading things for a customer. When we walked outside to let him know we were still waiting, he said he'd be there in just a few minutes. We waited a while longer, but finally left our purchases on the counter & left. Great items and selections. Very large number of vendors to choose from. I wanted to make a purchase and asked to negotiate the price . The vendor was not handy at the time and I had to rely upon a staffer to call on my behalf. Bad idea. The young fellow did try and called but did not put a great deal of effort towards my cause. He added that he was a new employee, so,,, how do I instruct him to barter? Ugh. I will visit again, but not sure if I will ever...
