Pretty nice place! Based on other reviewers, I almost didn’t go but am glad I did.
For context - I’m sort of picky when it comes to antiques. I tend to stick to the Victorian era and prefer the unusual. The photos of candles and 80s stuff don’t do it justice.
There are plenty of cabinet cards and tin types, large charcoal portraits and pictures in the $20-30 range. Cabinet cards were 6 for $10! I saw a few older dolls at only $50 each. Ended up with a fairly uncommon embalming fluid bottle of all things. There’s a booth at the top of the stairs with the lowest prices I’ve seen in a while for true antiques. It was nicely curated and balanced.
My only complaint - and I don’t know if this is an issue in the area or what, was the intense security. I really don’t like buying when I feel like the shop assumes I’m going to steal. I usually go through stores twice and found what I wanted at second glance. When we checked out a comment was made that they knew we had already seen everything and it made me feel like I was being watched and I felt like the man was looking to see what was in my hands. But who knows, maybe they had a theft issue. Overall...
Read moreVendor booth 21 sells junk electronics as "working and tested". But they're not. Bought an on old VCR today that shop owners said was tested and verified by whomever owns booth/section 21. Took it home. Plugged it in. Broken. It powers on. Takes a tape. Then shuts down and locks the tape in. Won't play. Won't rewind. Won't fast forward. Went eject. Won't do anything. If the vendor touches these at all, it's merely to see if it gets power not that it works. They are more than an hour drive away from me so it's not like I can just go down the street to return it. And they have a one day return policy for electronics. So I'm stuck with it. Not only am I out the money on a useless piece of junk, I will have to disassemble this junk to get my tape out of it. So much for hopefully transferring some OOP things to digital. Called the shop and they didn't really care. They just said they'd let the vendor know. Will never go here again. And to make matters more fun, the receipt had a phone number from the 504 area code (Louisiana) on it instead of their real 540 area code. So I even wasted calls to unwilling recipients halfway across...
Read moreThis is a nice little antique store with a lot of neat stuff. I always love coming to antique stores around Halloween and seeing all the neat spooky vintage things they put out for sale, and this place didn’t disappoint. There were so many cute antiques, old Halloween decorations and so many cool things. I even found another Troll Warrior to add to my collection! And the ladies at the front desk were so nice and were surprisingly fascinated by my abridged version of the BONKERS history of the 1990s trend where multiple toy companies made Troll Doll Action Figures at the same time due to a copyright loophole. This place is really nice and worth...
